- Player: Veliaf? What are you doing here?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well met friend. I'm here on an investigation. There's something strange going on in this town, and I suspect the vampyres are involved.
- Player: Anything I can help with?
- If the player does not have the requirements to start the quest:
- Veliaf Hurtz: Not at the moment. Keep checking in though, I may have need of you soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player has the requirements to start the quest:
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well an extra pair of hands is always beneficial. If you have the time of course?
- If the player has a lower combat level than recommended:
Yes.
- Player: Of course. What do you need?
- Veliaf Hurtz: This town has recently become home to an illness known as the Sleeper Plague. It's a nasty affliction. Those infected fall into a deep sleep, never to wake.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Now, Morytania is no stranger to odd afflictions. However, I've been doing some digging. Apparently, this isn't the first time this illness has beset Slepe. In fact, they say it's how the town was named.
- Player: And now the illness is back. You said you suspect the vampyres are involved?
- Veliaf Hurtz: I do. The first victim of the new Sleeper Plague was none other than Lady Crombwick. She rules over this town from Crombwick Manor, along with her husband.
- Veliaf Hurtz: He's not been seen since she fell ill, and their manor has been locked down.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Here's the interesting part though. Vampyres have been seen around the manor. Apparently they showed up around the time when the Sleeper Plague returned.
- Player: I see where this is going. You think the vampyres are the reason the plague is back.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I do. The question is, why?
- Player: I guess that's for us to work out. Where do we start?
- Veliaf Hurtz: We'll split up. I'm going to try and learn more about these vampyres at the manor. While I do that, I want you to try and find the source of the illness.
- Veliaf Hurtz: They're looking after the victims in this church here. I'd recommend you make that your starting point.
- Player: Sounds like a plan. Good luck.
- Veliaf Hurtz: And to you. Myreque prevail.
How have things been for you recently?
- Player: How have things been for you recently?
- Veliaf Hurtz: We haven't been doing too bad. Even out in Mort Myre, the impact of Ranis' death can be seen.
- Veliaf Hurtz: People have a little bit more hope now, and it has become easier for us to gather support.
- Player: That's good to know.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Of course, there are downsides. The vampyres are hunting us with ever greater determination. But this is the life we chose.
- (Shows other options)
What do you know about this place?
- Player: What do you know about this place?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Slepe? It's wretched. The people of this town follow the teachings of Zamorak. Some are no better than the vampyres themselves.
- Player: Do they get on with the vampyres?
- Veliaf Hurtz: As well as any humans can. All settlements in Morytania must pay the vampyres in blood tithes, but the people of Slepe do so willingly.
- Veliaf Hurtz: They see the vampyres as fellow servants of Zamorak. Of course, the vampyres only really serve themselves.
- Player: So why do these people follow Zamorak?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Apparently this place was founded by a group called the Sisterhood, former healers of Saradomin that turned to Zamorak.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Their order still exists to this day. You'll probably see a few of them around the town.
- (Shows other options)
Can you tell me any more about the Sleeper Plague?
- Player: Can you tell me any more about the Sleeper Plague?
- Veliaf Hurtz: What I told you is pretty much what I know. The illness causes people to fall to sleep, never to wake again.
- Veliaf Hurtz: There's a rumour that the infected are also granted immortality, though I don't know if there's any truth in this.
- Player: To be honest, immortality doesn't seem very useful if you're unable to wake up.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Indeed. If history is to be believed, this is the second time the Sleeper Plague has hit Slepe. The first occurrence was many years ago and is supposedly what gave the town its name.
- Veliaf Hurtz: That's all I know. That said, I suspect you might be able to learn more if you do some digging around town.
- (Shows other options)
I'd better get going.
- Player: I'd better get going.
- (End of dialogue)
No.
- Player: Actually, I'm a bit busy right now. Maybe later.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Very well friend. Myreque prevail.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: What am I meant to be doing?
- Veliaf Hurtz: You need to try and find the source of the Sleeper Plague. I'd start in the church. That's where they're looking after the victims.
- Player: Sounds like a plan.
How have things been for you recently?
What do you know about this place?
Can you tell me any more about the Sleeper Plague?
I'd better get going.
- Player: You don't look too happy?
- Hameln the Jester: You're not wrong about that. It's my travelling companion, Hanchen. They say he's the latest victim of the Sleeper Plague.
Do you know how he fell ill?
- Player: Do you know how he fell ill?
- Hameln the Jester: I've no idea. We'd just been to the pub for a quick drink. On our way back, he started to act all odd, then he just collapsed.
- Player: Pub?
- Hameln the Jester: Yes. The Rat & Bat just south east of here. I'm not a drinker myself but Hanchen's always loved a good tipple.
- Player: Wait... you mean to say you weren't drinking?
- Hameln the Jester: No, I never drink. Hanchen on the other hand was loving those Bloody Bracers.
- Player: I see. Thanks for the information.
- (Shows other options)
(Non-quest dialogue) You don't look like locals.
(Non-quest dialogue) Bye!
- Player: You don't look too happy?
- Hameln the Jester: You're not wrong about that. It's my travelling companion, Hanchen. They say he's the latest victim of the Sleeper Plague.
Do you know how he fell ill?
- Player: Do you know how he fell ill?
- Hameln the Jester: Like I said, I've no idea. We'd just been to the pub when it happened. Hanchen's always loved a good drink.
- Player: I see. Thanks for the information.
- (Shows other options)
(Non-quest dialogue) You don't look like locals.
(Non-quest dialogue) Bye!
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well met friend. How goes the investigation?
- Player: Apparently the latest victim of the Sleeper Plague was at the pub shortly before falling ill.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Interesting. Might be worth a look.
- Player: Agreed. I'll see if I can discover anything.
How have things been for you recently?
What do you know about this place?
Can you tell me any more about the Sleeper Plague?
I'd better get going.
- Player: What ales are you serving?
- Carl: We serve Crombwick's finest Bloody Bracer, that is all.
- Player: Sounds rough, how much?
- Carl: 99 of your finest coins.
(Non-quest dialogue) Alright, one Bloody Bracer, if that's all you have.
Where do you get your Bloody Bracers from?
- Player: Where do you get your Bloody Bracers from?
- Carl: It's an old recipe of the Crombwick family.
- Player: Okay. But the actual Bloody Bracers you sell, where do they come from?
- Carl: Who's asking?
- Player: Well... me of course.
- Carl: Yes, but what I mean is, why do you want to know?
- Player: Does it matter?
- Carl: My supplier is a private individual. He doesn't like others meddling in his affairs. So yes, it does matter.
- Player: I represent... health?
- Carl: Health? What are you on about?
- Player: Err... Health and safety of course, here on a routine inspection.
- Player: Part of my work requires me to inspect the source of your Bloody Bracers. I was hoping you'd put me in touch with your supplier.
- Carl: I don't know what you're on about. There're no routine inspections here. Now clear off, I have customers to serve!
- Player: Well I might just have a look around anyway.
- (End of dialogue)
(Non-quest dialogue) 99 coins? That's ridiculous!
(Non-quest dialogue) What can you tell me about this town?
(Non-quest dialogue) Actually, I'm no longer thirsty.
- Carl: You don't give up do you. I'm not telling you anything so clear off.
- Carl: Hey! I see you there!
Carl heads into the Sisterhood Sanctuary
- Player: The dungeon Carl? What are you hiding down there?
Carl enters Kroy's lab.
- Kroy: Carl? What do you want?
- Carl: Kroy. We've run out of Bloody Bracer again.
- Kroy: Did you really need to come here to tell me that?
- Carl: There's something else as well. Someone's been poking around, asking about Bloody Bracer.
- Kroy: Who?
- Carl: I don't know. They don't look to be from around here.
- Kroy: So someone's been snooping around asking questions, and you decided to come here? What if they followed you?
- Carl: I... I thought you'd want to know.
- Kroy: You're a fool Carl. If you're not careful, you'll jeopardise everything.
- Carl: Hey! I don't need to help you!
- Kroy: No, you don't. Your predecessor didn't want to help us. Perhaps you remember what came of him?
- Carl: I...
- Kroy: Go back to your pub Carl. I'll have more Bloody Bracer sent over soon. In the meantime, try to be a bit smarter.
- Carl: Fine.
Carl leaves the lab, failing to notice the player eavesdropping. Afterwards, Damien Leucurte enters the lab, followed by Vanstrom Klause.
- Vanstrom Klause: Alright then, Damien. What is it that you're so keen to show me?
- Damien Leucurte: Vanstrom, I'd like you to meet Kroy.
- Kroy: Greetings, my lord.
- Vanstrom Klause: Don't tell me you had me come all the way down here for this? Look at the wretched thing, Damien. It's barely even a proper juvenile.
- Damien Leucurte: Well just hang on there, Vanstrom. Kroy may not look like much, but I've never met a vampyre with a better knowledge of herblore.
- Damien Leucurte: Kroy, tell him what you found.
- Kroy: Of course, my lord.
- Kroy: It was hidden deep within the sanctuary here. A recipe, for an elixir.
- Vanstrom Klause: An elixir?
- Kroy: Yes! The ones that built the place, the Sisterhood, they called it the Elixir of Everlasting.
- Vanstrom Klause: And just what is this Elixir of Everlasting?
- Damien Leucurte: Those who drink it find their lives heavily extended, but at a cost. They are put into a deep sleep, never to wake.
- Vanstrom Klause: So the Sleeper Plague? That was your doing?
- Damien Leucurte: Indeed. Using the recipe, Kroy was easily able to recreate the elixir. After a quick test on Lady Crombwick, we started giving it to the citizens.
- Kroy: We hide it in their beer, Bloody Bracer. They've no idea what it's really doing to them!
- Damien Leucurte: And while they sleep, we tithe them. The sleepers only need a fraction of the blood a normal human needs, so we can take more than ever before!
- Vanstrom Klause: And tell me, Damien, who gave you permission to do this?
- Damien Leucurte: The nobles of Darkmeyer make their demands Vanstrom. Someone has to meet them.
- Vanstrom Klause: That someone is not you. I am in charge of blood tithing. I alone decide how it is to be carried out.
- Damien Leucurte: The nobles are restless. They are tired of inaction. I saw an opportunity and I took it. Lord Drakan should thank me.
- Vanstrom Klause: I don't doubt the ingenuity of your plan. This elixir could have great potential. The thing I doubt is your recklessness. This Sleeper Plague has attracted attention. The wrong kind of attention.
- Damien Leucurte: The Myreque? Don't tell me you're scared of that lot, Vanstrom? I thought you were made of stronger stuff.
- Vanstrom Klause: I do not fear the Myreque. I have no need to. They have no way of touching me.
- Vanstrom Klause: But you on the other hand, you should be very afraid. Out here alone, without the support of the Drakan household. You're a prime target. And if what I hear is true, they're right on your doorstep.
- Damien Leucurte: What's that supposed to mean?
- Vanstrom Klause: The Myreque are already here in Slepe, Damien. The one that killed Ranis Drakan is among them. Your overconfidence has begun your downfall.
- Damien Leucurte: Well you'll have to do something. You'll need to send us some support.
- Vanstrom Klause: I will do no such thing. You defied Lord Drakan when you came out here. The consequences of your actions are your own to deal with.
- Vanstrom Klause: Now, if you'll excuse me, I will be on my way. There are things in Darkmeyer that require my attention.
Vanstrom leaves via the ladder, followed by Damien. The player enters Kroy's lab immediately after.
- Kroy: How much did you hear, human?
- Player: Enough.
- Kroy: I see. Then you know that I can't let you leave this place alive.
- Player: Tempting offer. Death isn't on my to-do list today though, so I'll have to decline.
- Kroy: A joker? Your arrogance will be your end, human.
- Player: We'll see.
- Kroy: Yes... We shall...
Kroy attacks the player.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Meet me in the Haunted Woods, just south of Fenkenstrain's Castle. We will hopefully find Ivan there.
- Player: Okay, I'll see you there.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: [player name]! So good to see you. What brings you out here?
- Player: Hello there, Ivan. Believe it or not, I'm actually here for you.
- Ivan Strom: For me? I'm guessing Drezel sent you?
- Player: That's right. He told us of your discovery about the werewolves. We came to lend a hand.
- Ivan Strom: We? Is Veliaf with you?
- Player: Yes. We've been investigating something together. We suspect it may be connected to this situation with the werewolves. I imagine he'll be here shortly.
Veliaf arrives at the meeting spot.
- Ivan Strom: Veliaf!
- Veliaf Hurtz: Ivan. It's good to see you safe.
- Ivan Strom: And you. [player name] says you're here about the werewolves.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Indeed. But Ivan, you shouldn't be out here. It's not safe for you. Head back to the temple, let [player name] and I take it from here.
- Ivan Strom: Don't worry, Veliaf. I can look after myself.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Ivan...
- Player: Wait! Look!
Three werewolves arrive at the meeting spot with a family of prisoners, and greet Damien and two vampyre juvinates.
- Damien Leucurte: You're late.
- Werewolf: Well look who it is. Damien Leucurte! I thought you didn't like to associate with our lot.
- Werewolf: Scared of getting mud on his pretty clothes, I bet.
- Damien Leucurte: Mind your tongue, dog, or I'll have you put in a collar.
- Werewolf: Your threats mean nothing out here Damien. There're no Drakans around to protect you.
- Werewolf: Not that Drakan protection means much these days anyway. His own brother killed by a human. How does he respond? He stays hiding in his fancy castle.
- Werewolf: Ha! You think this one would get Drakan protection even if he were about? I hear Vanstrom has found out about this little side venture. Little Damien has been a very naughty boy.
- Damien Leucurte: Enough of this! What do you have for me?
- Werewolf: A nice family of three, out for a little picnic a bit too close to the Salve.
- Prisoner: Please... don't hurt us. We'll do anything!
- Werewolf: Shut up!
- Damien Leucurte: Three? Is that all?
- Werewolf: Well if you want more, you're welcome to cross the Salve yourself and get them.
- Damien Leucurte: There's been a setback with our operations in Slepe. We need you to make up the shortfall. Next time, bring more.
- Werewolf: You assume there's going to be a next time. I bet you don't last another week now that the Myreque are running around with vampyre-killing weapons.
- Werewolf: A week? He won't even last another day at the rate he's going!
- Damien Leucurte: I tire of your arrogance. We're done here.
- Werewolf: Yes, we are. See you around Damien.
- Werewolf: Or not.
The werewolves leave the meeting.
- Veliaf Hurtz: So it's as we suspected. The werewolves have been taking people from across the Salve.
- Player: But they've been doing so without permission, just like in Slepe.
- Veliaf Hurtz: This doesn't give us anything more to go on though. We have our suspicions, but we still don't know for sure why they are doing this.
- Ivan Strom: Should we follow them? Maybe we'll learn more if we do. We might also get a chance to save that poor family.
- Veliaf Hurtz: No, it's too risky. Last thing we need is you getting captured, Ivan.
- Ivan Strom: Hang on... Do you two hear something?
Vanescula Drakan appears; Veliaf attempts to attack her, but is knocked back and stunned. Afterwards, she snares the player, Veliaf, and Ivan.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Go on then! Finish it!
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh Veliaf my dear, If I'd wanted you dead I'd have done it a long time ago.
- Ivan Strom: You're not here to kill us?
- Vanescula Drakan: No... I'm here to talk...
Vanescula transforms into her human form.
- Vanescula Drakan: So... Let's talk.
- Vanescula Drakan: I take it you know who I am?
- Ivan Strom: You're Vanescula Drakan, sister to Lowerniel Drakan.
- Veliaf Hurtz: And formally, sister to Ranis Drakan, before [player name] here came along.
- Vanescula Drakan: Ah yes, [player name], the great vampyre slayer. I would thank you, were it not for the fact that his funeral was such a dull affair.
- Player: Wait... You wanted him dead?
- Vanescula Drakan: There was no love between Ranis and I. You did us a favour when you got rid of him.
- Player: That's a shame. Maybe I shouldn't have bothered.
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh on the contrary, the death of Ranis was just what we needed.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Save your words. You didn't come to thank us for Ranis. Why are you here?
- Vanescula Drakan: Ah, and there I was thinking we were starting to become friends. Fine. I'm here to make you an offer. A once in a lifetime offer.
- Ivan Strom: Which is?
- Vanescula Drakan: You've already killed one of my brothers. Now I offer you the chance to kill the other.
- Vanescula Drakan: Alone, you have no hope of ever getting close to Lowerniel. Now, I on the otherhand, can get you right into his chambers at Castle Drakan.
- Veliaf Hurtz: And why would you want that?
- Vanescula Drakan: I have my reasons.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Care to share them?
- Vanescula Drakan: I will, but not here.
- Player: Where then?
- Vanescula Drakan: To the south east of Meiyerditch, there's an old graveyard. The Icyene Graveyard, we call it. Gather the Myreque, every member, and meet me there. That is where I will present my proposal.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Every member of the Myreque? Do you take us for fools? You're trying to lure us all there to wipe us out.
- Vanescula Drakan: As I said to you earlier, Veliaf, if I wanted you dead I'd have done it long ago.
- Veliaf Hurtz: You're bluffing!
- Vanescula Drakan: Am I? So if I were to head to the Burgh de Rott inn and go down into the basement, what would I find?
- Veliaf Hurtz: You...
- Vanescula Drakan: If I were to give the order, I could have the heads of every member of the Myreque mounted above the gates of Castle Drakan before the day is out.
- Ivan Strom: Don't be so sure. There's more of us than you think.
- Vanescula Drakan: Is there now? Do you refer to the elusive Calsidiu, the apparent leader of the Myreque?
- Vanescula Drakan: A lie, I'm afraid. I know exactly how many of you there are. And that number isn't as big as you'd like to pretend.
- Ivan Strom: A lie? Veliaf...
- Player: You've made your point Vanescula. How do we get to this graveyard?
- Vanescula Drakan: A boat will be your easiest way I imagine. I'll let you worry about the details.
- Vanescula Drakan: Incidentally, should you fail to attend...
- Veliaf Hurtz: You'll mount our heads above the gates of Castle Drakan. Yeah, we get it.
- Vanescula Drakan: Excellent, glad we understand one another. I will await you at the graveyard.
- Veliaf Hurtz: This isn't good.
- Ivan Strom: Veliaf... You lied about Calsidiu and the other Myreque?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Yes. But it was with good intention, Ivan. To believe there were more of us out there... It inspired hope in our ranks, and fear in our enemies.
- Ivan Strom: A false hope.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Better than none at all. Ivan, I have made some tough choices over my years, but every one of them was for the good of Morytania.
- Ivan Strom: Okay... I understand. I don't like it, but I understand.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I don't like it either. Later, we will sit down and properly discuss this. However, at the moment I fear we have more pressing matters.
- Ivan Strom: Vanescula. What do we do?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Go back to Paterdomus, Ivan. [player name] and I will handle it.
- Ivan Strom: But you heard what she said. She asked for all the Myreque. Veliaf, I'm one of the Myreque, I have to come with you.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Come with us? What makes you think we're even going? What makes you think we have any intention of listening to that witch?
- Ivan Strom: We don't have a choice, Veliaf, you know that. If we don't go, she'll kill us all.
- Player: I fear Ivan is right. It doesn't seem like Vanescula has given us any other options.
- Ivan Strom: Exactly. The decision has already been made for us, so I see little point in debating it. We're going. All of us.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Dammit Ivan! I'm trying to keep you safe!
- Ivan Strom: You can't keep me safe, Veliaf. No one can. While Lowerniel Drakan lives, none of us will ever be safe.
- Ivan Strom: We have to do this. It's the only choice we have.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Fine. But don't expect me to even pretend to be happy about this! Breaking bread with a vampyre! What have we come to?
- Ivan Strom: We're not breaking bread with her. We're going to see what she has to offer. If she tries anything, [player name] here can deal with her, just like he did to her brother.
- Player: It would be my pleasure. What's our plan?
- Veliaf Hurtz: I will travel down to Burgh de Rott and inform Radigad and Polmafi of this plight we find ourselves in. I'll also have word sent to Safalaan and the others in Meiyerditch.
- Veliaf Hurtz: [player name], I would appreciate it if you could escort Ivan down to Burgh de Rott.
- Ivan Strom: I need to collect some things from Paterdomus first. I'll update Drezel while I'm there. Once I'm done, I'll meet you outside the temple, on the Canifis side.
- Player: Sounds good to me.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I will see you both at the boathouse in Burgh de Rott. We can use the boat there to get to this graveyard. Good luck.
Ivan and Veliaf depart, leaving you alone in the woods.
- Ivan Strom: Hey there [player name]. I think I'm all ready to depart when you are.
- Player: What's our plan?
- Ivan Strom: We need to travel through Mort Myre Swamp to Burgh de Rott. We may encounter all kinds of evil on our way, so you'd probably best prepare to fight.
- Ivan Strom: Are you ready to go to Burgh de Rott?
I'm ready.
I need to prepare first.
- Player: I need to prepare first.
- Ivan Strom: Okay, I'll be here once you're ready.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Well that's torn it... Looks like we can't get over this bog. We'll have to go back to Paterdomus.
- Player: Oh, I'm sure we can find a way through!
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: That's amazing! I'll have to do the same.
- Ivan Strom: That was great! But we really should be heading off now.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Rotten luck! The bridge is out. Do you think there's a way over?
- Player: I reckon we can come up with something.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vampyre Juvinate: And what do we have here? Looks like some fresh Myreque meat!
- Vampyre Juvinate: Hang on... That's the Slayer! The one that killed Ranis Drakan!
- Vampyre Juvinate: Uh oh...
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well, here we are. Likely going to our doom.
- Ivan Strom: At least we go together.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Touching, but ultimately meaningless.
- Ivan Strom: Ever the optimist, aren't you Veliaf?
- Player: Is everything ready?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Radigad has scouted out the graveyard. It's empty, for now. Vanescula's probably waiting for all of us to arrive before she makes her move.
- Player: What of Safalaan and the others?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Polmafi managed to get in contact with them. They will meet us there.
- Player: I guess we'd better get going then.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Indeed. No point delaying the inevitable. Hop in the boat once you're ready, friend. We're right behind you.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Hop in the boat once you're ready, friend. We're right behind you.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey. You should get into the boat if you're ready to go.
- (End of dialogue)
- Radigad Ponfit: Well met friend.
- Player: Radigad. Good to see you.
- Radigad Ponfit: I hope you came well armed my friend. These are dangerous times.
- Player: When are they not?
- Radigad Ponfit: True. It looks like Veliaf and Safalaan are waiting for you. We will talk more later.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey [player name]. Looks like Veliaf and Safalaan want to speak to you. Let's talk after.
- Player: Okay. See you soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there. Have you spoken to Veliaf and Safalaan?
- Player: Not yet.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Ah, probably best that you do. That vampyre could arrive at any moment.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Safalaan Hallow. Interesting name, isn't it?
- Safalaan Hallow: What of it?
- Vanescula Drakan: The name 'Hallow'. Do you know where it comes from?
- Safalaan Hallow: It's common in these parts. They say it was the name of the old Saradominist rulers.
- Vanescula Drakan: Spot on. You know your history. The family of icyene that ruled over Hallowvale were the Hallow family. And so of course, the name of the region is no coincidence.
- Safalaan Hallow: I'm surprised your brother didn't have it renamed 'Drakanvale'.
- Vanescula Drakan: Good name, but not really his style I'm afraid.
- Safalaan Hallow: What's your game, Vanescula? Why do you care about my name?
- Vanescula Drakan: Do you not find it odd that you share a name with the former royal family?
- Safalaan Hallow: No, I don't. Like I say, around here the name is pretty ordinary.
- Vanescula Drakan: Ah, but you are far from ordinary, aren't you Safalaan? Tell me, how much do you remember of your childhood?
- Safalaan Hallow: Nothing. I remember nothing of my childhood. You can thank your friend Vanstrom for that. He always wanted me dead, even back before the Myreque were a thing. One day he nearly succeeded.
- Vanescula Drakan: But your powers stopped him?
- Player: You know about Safalaan's powers?
- Vanescula Drakan: I know many things about Safalaan. It's why we are here, in fact. But please, go on.
- Safalaan Hallow: It's why we're here? What do you mean? What is all this?
- Vanescula Drakan: Finish your story. I promise that everything will be made clear.
- Safalaan Hallow: Fine, but it's starting to seem like you already know everything anyway.
- Safalaan Hallow: You're right about my powers. I was able to use them to drive Vanstrom away. It came at a cost though.
- Safalaan Hallow: I remember nothing of the event, nor of anything that happened in my life before it. The only thing I remembered was my name.
- Safalaan Hallow: There, story told. Now, tell me, why are we having this conversation?
- Vanescula Drakan: This graveyard is no normal graveyard. It was once the private graveyard of the Hallow family. Every member of the royal family was buried here.
- Vanescula Drakan: When she was still in power, the ruler of Hallowvale, Queen Efaritay Hallow, had this mausoleum built. It was constructed to one day house her and her human husband, King Ascertes Hallow.
- Vanescula Drakan: Inside, I believe you will find the truth that you've spent your whole life searching for.
- Safalaan Hallow: Stop with these games! If you know something, tell me!
- Vanescula Drakan: Would you actually believe me if I did? To you, my words are just that, words. Inside this mausoleum lies something far more reliable, proof.
- Player: The door is locked.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well noted. We'll need to unlock it.
- Player: I bet I can get it open.
- Vanescula Drakan: Wonderful. It's an interesting lock. The icyene always were devious. From what I can tell, you'll need to ensure that the total value of each row and column matches the number at the end.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, off you go.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Any luck with the lock, [player name]?
- Player: Not yet.
- Safalaan Hallow: Try to hurry. I don't like these games that Vanescula is playing.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: You need to get this door open. From what I can tell, you'll need to ensure that the total value of each row and column on the lock matches the number at the end.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, off you go.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey [player name]. You need to be over with Safalaan and Vanescula. We'll talk later.
- Player: Okay. See you soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- Radigad Ponfit: Best we don't talk right now, [player name]. You need to be watching Safalaan and Vanescula and I don't want to distract you.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Now's not the time for chat, [player name]. You're meant to be watching Safalaan and Vanescula.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: You should be keeping an eye on Safalaan and Vanescula. We will talk later.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Well?
- Player: There's a plaque on the coffin.
- Safalaan Hallow: What does it say?
- Player: It reads:
- Player: 'Here lies Larina Hallow. Beloved daughter of Efaritay and Ascertes Hallow and...'
- Safalaan Hallow: And?
- Player: My god...
- Safalaan Hallow: What does it say?
- Player: '...and faithful sister of Safalaan Hallow.'
- Safalaan Hallow: I... I don't...
- Safalaan Hallow: No! It can't be true! It can't be!
- Vanescula Drakan: I'm sorry Safalaan, but it is true. You are the half- human, half-icyene son of Queen Efaritay Hallow.
- Safalaan Hallow: A sister... I had a sister. And my powers?
- Vanescula Drakan: The powers of an icyene, yes.
- Safalaan Hallow: But... I don't understand...
- Vanescula Drakan: I realise it's a lot to take in.
- Safalaan Hallow: No. What I mean is, you said that this tomb was built for Efaritay and Ascertes, for my mother and father. But they're not here.
- Safalaan Hallow: Where are they Vanescula?
- Vanescula Drakan: Safalaan I...
- Safalaan Hallow: No! No more games! I know why you've done this. You don't care for me. You're just trying to manipulate me!
- Safalaan Hallow: Well fine, it worked. If you want my support in killing your brother, you will have it. But you must tell me, where are my parents?
- Vanescula Drakan: The war for this land was long and bloody. We were winning, but with heavy losses. Lowerniel didn't mind. He was a hunter and a warrior. In his eyes, there was no death more noble than one in battle.
- Vanescula Drakan: Many didn't share that view though, and wanted the war to be over. Ranis was one of them. He managed to infiltrate Efaritay's castle. Once inside, he captured your father, Ascertes.
- Safalaan Hallow: And?
- Vanescula Drakan: Efaritay surrendered that same day. She walked into Lowerniel's camp, alone, and willingly handed herself in. I guess she had hoped that Lowerniel would free your father in exchange for her.
- Safalaan Hallow: But he didn't, did he?
- Vanescula Drakan: No. After that, I'm afraid I don't know what happened to your mother. No one ever saw her again. Only Lowerniel himself knows her fate.
- Safalaan Hallow: And my father?
- Vanescula Drakan: Like I said, we suffered heavy losses in the war. We needed a way to quickly restore our numbers. Vampyrification was the answer. Your father was the first of many to go through the process.
- Safalaan Hallow: You turned him into a vampyre? You monsters!
- Vanescula Drakan: Lowerniel turned him into a vampyre, not I.
- Safalaan Hallow: But you were there, by his side. Do you expect me to believe that you're not just like him?
- Vanescula Drakan: I can't control what you believe, but I am not the enemy here.
- Safalaan Hallow: What happened then? After you had your way with him, what became of my father?
- Vanescula Drakan: He still lives to this day, under a different name of course.
- Safalaan Hallow: What name? Tell me!
- Vanescula Drakan: Vanstrom Klause.
- Safalaan Hallow: No! You're lying! You said it yourself earlier, I have no reason to believe you!
- Vanescula Drakan: Everything I have told you is the truth. Only you can decide if you want to believe it.
- Player: Safalaan...
- Safalaan Hallow: My family...
- Safalaan Hallow: Alright Vanescula, you win. If you want Lowerniel dead, you will have the support of the Myreque. I ask only one thing.
- Vanescula Drakan: Which is?
- Safalaan Hallow: When the time comes, I will be the one to kill him. He will pay for what he has done to me and my family.
- Vanescula Drakan: So be it. You should inform the rest of your group.
- Safalaan Hallow: [player name], I need some time to think over what we have discovered here. Please, inform the others for me.
- Player: Of course.
- Safalaan Hallow: Now, both of you leave. I need some time alone.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: No. You need to tell your companions about Safalaan's decision. Now, get going.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vertida Sefalatis: Myreque prevail, [player name].
- Player: Myreque prevail, Vertida.
- Vertida Sefalatis: I saw you head into that mausoleum with Safalaan and Vanescula. What's going on?
- Player: Turns out this graveyard is more than just a quiet meeting place. That mausoleum contained the truth behind Safalaan's heritage.
- Vertida Sefalatis: Truth? What do you mean?
- Player: Safalaan is the only living child of Efaritay Hallow, the former queen of Hallowvale.
- Vertida Sefalatis: By Saradomin!
- Vertida Sefalatis: Is he okay? That's quite the sudden discovery.
- Player: He wishes to be alone. In the meantime, he asked me to speak to everyone.
- Vertida Sefalatis: He's agreed to work with her, hasn't he?
- Player: How did you know?
- Vertida Sefalatis: I know what he's like. I've known Safalaan longer than anyone. When Vanstrom attacked him and he lost his memory, I was the one that found him.
- Vertida Sefalatis: Well, if Safalaan wants to work with Vanescula, then he has my support.
- Player: Oh. That was easy. I was expecting you to disagree with him.
- Vertida Sefalatis: I trust Safalaan. He's made some mistakes, sure. But he's a good leader and I know he won't have made this choice lightly. Tell him he has my support all the way on this.
- Player: Alright, thanks Vertida.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there. I hope Vanescula isn't causing trouble.
- Player: Not yet she isn't. In fact, Safalaan has decided he wants to work with her.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: He does? Why?
- Player: She showed him the truth about his family. That seemed to convince him.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Oh dear. I fear she is trying to manipulate him.
- Player: So you don't agree with his decision?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Vanescula does not strike me as someone that fails to consider every detail of a plan. However, you must have spotted the clear holes in this scheme to kill her brother.
- Player: Like what?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Her plan detailed getting us in and killing her brother. But there was no mention of getting us out again. We'll have just killed the ruler of Morytania. To the vampyres, we'll be public enemy number one.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: If you ask me, I reckon that Vanescula will kill us all as soon as her brother is out of the picture.
- Player: So you don't support the plan?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: I'm afraid not. Killing Lowerniel Drakan is no victory at all if he just gets replaced with his sister. Especially if it results in our demise.
- Player: Fair enough. I'll see what the others think.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there.
- Player: Hello. I was wondering if you'd changed your mind about working with Vanescula?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: I'm afraid not. Killing Lowerniel Drakan is no victory at all if he just gets replaced with his sister. Especially if it results in our demise.
- Player: Fair enough. I'll see what the others think.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there.
- Player: Hello. I was wondering if you'd changed your mind about working with Vanescula?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: I'm afraid not. Killing Lowerniel Drakan is no victory at all if he just gets replaced with his sister. Especially if it results in our demise.
- Player: Well maybe it doesn't have to. Radigad has a plan of his own. He thinks that once her brother is dead, we should kill Vanescula as well.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: An interesting proposal. Do you think we can do it?
- Player: If we can kill Lowerniel, we can kill her. He's meant to be the most powerful vampyre around.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: A fair point. And I guess if we can't kill Lowerniel, what does it matter at that point. We'll all be dead.
- Player: A pleasant thought. So, are you still against the plan?
- Polmafi Ferdygris: I still fear it's a trap. But perhaps our best move now is to spring that trap. You've convinced me. I will support Safalaan.
- Player: Great, thanks.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there. Have you convinced the others to work with Vanescula?
- Player: I'm still working on it.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Well keep at it.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey [player name]. I've been pondering what Vanescula told us about Calsidiu.
- Player: And?
- Ivan Strom: I understand why Veliaf lied at the time. We were on the brink of defeat. Without a bit of hope, we'd have probably never made it to this point.
- Ivan Strom: But I don't think we need that false hope any more. Now, we have real hope. Ranis Drakan is dead! Ranis Drakan! He was Lowerniel Drakan's own brother!
- Ivan Strom: If Ranis can die, so can the rest. Lowerniel's days are numbered.
- Player: So you're not angry at Veliaf?
- Ivan Strom: No. He did what he believed was right. In the end, that's all any of us can do.
- Player: Well on that note, how do you feel about Vanescula's plan?
- Ivan Strom: It's dangerous, but so what? We're the Myreque, danger is what we do. I say we go for it.
- Player: It seems you're not alone with that sentiment. Safalaan wishes to work with Vanescula.
- Ivan Strom: You have my support [player name]. It's Veliaf you need to convince.
- Player: I guess I'd better talk to him then.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey [player name]. Any luck with Veliaf?
- Player: Not yet.
- Ivan Strom: He can't say no forever. If everyone else is on board, he'll have to agree.
- Player: Let's hope so. Talk later Ivan.
- (End of dialogue)
- Radigad Ponfit: [player name]. How goes it?
- Player: Safalaan has decided he wants to work with Vanescula.
- Radigad Ponfit: Has he now? A good decision if you ask me.
- Player: You think so?
- Radigad Ponfit: Oh yes. Here's how I see it. Vanescula is right, we can't kill her brother without her help.
- Player: I feel like there's a 'but' coming on.
- Radigad Ponfit: But... once the deed is done, we don't have any further need of her. We kill her as well and Morytania is finally free of that wretched family.
- Player: You heard what she said. If we kill her another vampyre could just take her place.
- Radigad Ponfit: Well of course she said that. She needs us to believe that we need her, otherwise her whole plan is done for.
- Radigad Ponfit: Think about it. Lowerniel Drakan is supposedly the most powerful vampyre in existence. What vampyre would dare cross the humans that killed him?
- Player: You make a fair point. I take it you're happy to work with Vanescula then?
- Radigad Ponfit: Of course! Let's rid Morytania of evil, once and for all!
- (End of dialogue)
- Radigad Ponfit: [player name]. How goes it?
- Player: I'm still working to convince the others to work with Vanescula.
- Radigad Ponfit: You should let them know my plan. I bet that will convince some of them.
- Player: Good idea. Thanks Radigad.
- (End of dialogue)
- Kael Forshaw: Good to see you, [player name].
- Player: And you, Kael. I wanted to talk to you about Vanescula's plan.
- Kael Forshaw: Appears risky to me, friend. Vampyres are the enemy and she is a vampyre.
- Player: We take risks every day though, don't we?
- Kael Forshaw: We do. But some we take because we have to, others because we choose to.
- Kael Forshaw: We took an unnecessary risk back in Meiyerditch with Serafina. Look how that turned out. Flaygian, Mekritus and Andiess. All dead because of that risk.
- Player: Were you close to them?
- Kael Forshaw: Flaygian and Mekritus? Not particularly. They were good men, and it was sad to lose them, but we were not close.
- Kael Forshaw: Now, Andiess on the other hand, he and I grew up together. Before Safalaan found us, he was all I had. But now he's gone and nothing I do will ever bring him back.
- Player: Do you blame Safalaan?
- Kael Forshaw: No. He could not have known what would happen. But that doesn't mean we should take more unnecessary risks.
- Player: This could be our only chance to kill Lowerniel Drakan. Surely that makes the risk necessary?
- Kael Forshaw: I want to believe that, I really do. I just don't know if I'm ready to lose any more friends.
- Player: I can't promise there won't be losses. But what of the losses we've already suffered? If we don't kill Lowerniel Drakan, surely they were all for nothing?
- Kael Forshaw: I... I guess you're right. Okay then, I'm in. Let's kill him, for Andiess, and for everyone else who's suffered because of him.
- Player: He'll regret the day he crossed the Myreque.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well met. Tell me, what's Vanescula up to with Safalaan?
- Player: Turns out Vanescula knows a lot about Safalaan. More than he knows about himself in fact.
- Veliaf Hurtz: What do you mean?
- Player: That mausoleum contained the truth about Safalaan's family. He is the only surviving child of Hallowvale's queen, Efaritay Hallow.
- Veliaf Hurtz: No! It can't be!
- Veliaf Hurtz: Are you sure this isn't a trick? It could be a trap set by Vanescula?
- Player: Possibly, though I don't think so. It all adds up. What else could explain his strange abilities?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Hmm. I guess it does fit.
- Player: That's not the only thing. Vanescula told us that Safalaan's father still lives, but as a vampyre. Vanstrom Klause.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Those monsters! How has Safalaan taken this?
- Player: As well as can be expected. However, he has decided it's best that we work with Vanescula.
- Veliaf Hurtz: What? This is a bad idea! She is a vampyre, we can't trust her.
- Player: So you won't work with her?
- Veliaf Hurtz: No. I'm sorry, but no. She's trying to manipulate Safalaan but I see through her lies. I can't support this.
- Player: I see.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Veliaf again before convincing everyone else
[edit | edit source]
- Player: Hello Veliaf. Have you thought any more about working with Vanescula?
- Veliaf Hurtz: There is no more thinking to do. The answer is still no.
- Player: I see.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Hello Veliaf. Have you thought any more about working with Vanescula?
- Veliaf Hurtz: There is no more thinking to do. The answer is still no.
- Player: You know, all the others have agreed to the plan. It's just you.
- Veliaf Hurtz: All of them? But why?
- Player: They all have their reasons. They all seem valid reasons to me.
- Veliaf Hurtz: But they must know that we can't trust Vanescula.
- Player: I think they know that. We do not necessarily need to trust her to work with her.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Damn it. I don't want to work with her, but I have no intention of abandoning the others to their fate. Fine. Looks like we all get to die together.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Come. I guess we should tell that vampyre that we're in.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well Vanescula, it seems you have managed to convince us. Well done.
- Vanescula Drakan: Thank you Veliaf. Now, shall we crack on?
- Safalaan Hallow: What must we do?
- Vanescula Drakan: If you want any hope of defeating my brother, you'll need the proper weaponry.
- Player: We have weaponry. We have the Ivandis Flail.
- Vanescula Drakan: Indeed you do. Not a bad weapon by any means, but not ideal for taking on Lowerniel. He'll snap it in two before you even have a chance to use it.
- Veliaf Hurtz: It worked well enough on Ranis.
- Vanescula Drakan: Lowerniel is far more powerful than Ranis was. If you want to defeat him, you should take my advice.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Fine. What are you proposing?
- Vanescula Drakan: If I'm not mistaken, which I'm generally not, you made that weapon using research from the Haemalchemy Laboratory.
- Veliaf Hurtz: How did you know that?
- Vanescula Drakan: [player name], who was it that helped you find that laboratory?
- Player: Sarius Guile, your servant. Hang on... Did you send her?
- Vanescula Drakan: Of course I did. Do you think she would have dared interact with you without my consent? Come now, surely you're smarter than that?
- Vanescula Drakan: Anyway, I don't know much of the laboratory myself. It was Ranis that had it set up. Lowerniel wasn't very happy when he found out.
- Vanescula Drakan: That said, I do suspect it might have more secrets for us to discover.
- Player: So you want us to go back there?
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes. If you are able to find further research notes, I suspect we'll find a way to upgrade that weapon of yours.
- Player: Okay, I'd better be off to the laboratory then.
- Safalaan Hallow: I would like to join you, [player name].
- Veliaf Hurtz: Are you sure, Safalaan?
- Safalaan Hallow: Yes. Better I be out there doing something than be stuck here brooding.
- Safalaan Hallow: [player name], do you remember how to reach the laboratory?
- Player: It's in sector six of Meiyerditch, just south east of the daeyalt mine.
- Safalaan Hallow: Very well. I will meet you there.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Good luck to you both.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Keep an eye on Safalaan, won't you? I worry about how he's taking things.
- Player: I shall, fear not.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Good. Now you should head off to that laboratory. No point wasting time.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You're meant to be searching the Haemalchemy Laboratory for more research. Run along now.
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Right, I'd better get going.
- Player: Right, I'd better get going.
- (End of dialogue)
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Actually, never mind.
- Player: Actually, never mind.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Meet me at the laboratory, friend. Let's see what we can discover.
- Player: Okay, I'll see you there.
- (End of dialogue)
- Polmafi Ferdygris: These are dark times friend.
- Player: They are. But maybe there's a light at the end of the tunnel.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Maybe. I guess we'll find out soon enough. Be careful out there.
- Player: And you.
- (End of dialogue)
- Radigad Ponfit: Imagine, the death of Lowerniel Drakan. Think what that could do to these dark lands.
- Player: It's crazy to think it might actually happen.
- Radigad Ponfit: We've come a long way. Just one final hurdle.
- Player: And then, peace in our time.
- Radigad Ponfit: Let us hope, let us hope.
- (End of dialogue)
- Ivan Strom: Hey [player name]. Looks like it's really happening. We're finally going to show Drakan what happens when you cross the Myreque.
- Player: Looks like it. How are you feeling?
- Ivan Strom: Oh I'm great. I know we can do this, especially with you on our side.
- Player: I hope you're right to have faith in me.
- Ivan Strom: Don't worry, I know you won't let us down.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Good to see you, [player name]. Glad you made it here safely.
- Player: And you. How are you doing?
- Safalaan Hallow: To be honest, I'm not sure if I've even properly taken it in yet. It's all so much. My mother, my sister... and of course, my father.
- Safalaan Hallow: It feels strange. I feel like I should mourn, but how do I mourn a family I can't even remember?
- Safalaan Hallow: And Vanstrom... My greatest enemy may well be my only remaining family. I wonder, is there anything left of Ascertes now? Is part of him still in there, buried away?
- Player: I don't know.
- Safalaan Hallow: Probably best not thinking about, I suppose. My job is to lead the Myreque. I can't let anything else distract me from that, not even my family.
- Safalaan Hallow: With all that's happened, I fear some of them may already be beginning to doubt me.
- Player: You have their support Safalaan, I know you do.
- Safalaan Hallow: I hope so. I let them down with that Serafina business, and people died. I can't let them down again.
- Safalaan Hallow: Anyway, let us crack on. It seems that we should be able to access more of the laboratory through the doors to the south.
- Safalaan Hallow: They were damaged and couldn't be opened, but I think I've managed to fix them up.
- Player: I didn't know you had a knack for Construction?
- Safalaan Hallow: Ah, one of my hidden talents. Of course, not much room for that sort of thing around here.
- Player: That's a shame. I'm sure you'd make a great builder.
- Safalaan Hallow: Ha! It's strange to think how differently our lives could have been, is it not? Alas, here we are.
- Player: I'm sorry. Maybe now isn't the best time for these kinds of conversations.
- Safalaan Hallow: You have a good sense of humour my friend, even in these dark times. Do not be ashamed of that. When things are darkest, a bit of light is very welcome.
- Player: I guess you're right.
Shall we get going then?
I'll be back soon.
- Player: I'll be back soon.
- Safalaan Hallow: Well just let me know when you're ready to go in.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Are you alright Safalaan?
- Safalaan Hallow: I... I'm fine. What happened?
- Player: We were attacked by some bloodvelds. You used your powers to kill one.
- Safalaan Hallow: Blasted powers! What good are powers when I have no control over them?
- Player: Don't be so harsh on yourself. Your powers have got us out of a couple of sticky situations now.
- Safalaan Hallow: Yes, but what happens if I totally lose control? Will I lose my memory like that time with Vanstrom? Or will I do something even worse?
- Player: Well now that we know the source of your powers, maybe we can find a way to help you control them.
- Safalaan Hallow: Maybe... Let us hope we can do so before it's too late.
- Safalaan Hallow: Bah, look at me, [player name]. I'm meant to be a leader, but I can barely control my own body. I'm like an old man.
- Player: Well... you are the son of Queen Efaritay. I guess that makes you thousands of years old.
- Safalaan Hallow: Eugh, what an awful thought. I guess I should get myself a walking stick.
- Player: I'm sure we can arrange that.
- Safalaan Hallow: Let's add it to the list. First though, the research we came here for. I'm afraid I'm still feeling a bit weak, so you'll have to do the heavy lifting on this one.
- Player: Oh I see how it is! You find out you're an old-timer and now I have to do all the work!
- Safalaan Hallow: Afraid so. My poor back simply can't take it. I've no doubt you'll manage though.
- Player: Okay. I'll have a look round and see what I can find. You stay here, old-timer.
- Safalaan Hallow: Please stop calling me that.
- Player: I can make no promises.
Do you think we can kill Drakan?
What do you think of Vanescula?
Could we talk more about your family?
I'll be back soon.
- Player: I'll be back soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Alright there old-timer?
- Safalaan Hallow: I'm starting to regret praising your humour.
- Player: What do I need to be doing?
- Safalaan Hallow: You need to try and find some more haemalchemy research. There must be something of note around here.
Do you think we can kill Drakan?
What do you think of Vanescula?
Could we talk more about your family?
I'll be back soon.
- Safalaan Hallow: We should get back to the graveyard. I'll meet you there.
Do you think we can kill Drakan?
What do you think of Vanescula?
Could we talk more about your family?
Okay. I'll see you soon.
- Player: Okay. I'll see you soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Still here Ivan?
- Ivan Strom: Yup. Most of the others went to the Meiyerditch hideout. But I wanted to stick around.
- Player: How come?
- Ivan Strom: This graveyard is one of the last remaining examples of what Hallowvale was like. I bet there's a lot to discover here.
- Ivan Strom: Maybe once Drakan is gone, we can get some proper archaeologists out here. I'm sure they could learn all sorts.
- Player: I bet they could. You holding up okay?
- Ivan Strom: Oh yes. We're going to win this, I know it.
- Player: You seem very confident?
- Ivan Strom: Why wouldn't I be? I have faith in Saradomin. I have faith in Safalaan and Veliaf. I have faith in you. Together, we will beat Drakan.
- Player: I do hope so.
- Ivan Strom: Have faith, friend. Anyway, I'd best let you get on.
- Player: Take care Ivan.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: ...of your arrogance. What makes you so sure we won't also kill you once your brother is dead?
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh, you could try. Although I doubt it would end well for you.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Now this is exactly what I mean.
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh lighten up would you. No sense of humour at all.
- Vanescula Drakan: I am no fool. I am all too aware of my own weaknesses and how you could exploit them. When we take on Lowerniel, I don't intend to be alone.
- Vanescula Drakan: I have many supporters amongst the vampyres of Darkmeyer. Your small group against all of us? The fight would be brief.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Hiding behind larger numbers? Not very honourable.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now you see, I've tried honour before. Decided it wasn't for me. Honour matters not if you're dead. I intend to keep living.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Ah, [player name], you're back. Good to see you made it okay.
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes, yes. Wonderful to see you. Shall we get on with things?
- Safalaan Hallow: Go ahead.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well, the research you recovered has confirmed something I have long suspected.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Which is?
- Vanescula Drakan: Queen Efaritay was a renowned botanist. She used this to her advantage many times during the war, breeding all kinds of plant life to use against us.
- Vanescula Drakan: One of these plants was the Blisterwood tree. The icyene used the sap of this tree to create poisons that were deadly to vampyres.
- Vanescula Drakan: However, I've always suspected the tree might have other uses. Clearly the researchers in the Haemalchemy Laboratory thought the same.
- Player: So what did they find out?
- Vanescula Drakan: It seems that the bark of the Blisterwood tree can be used to create weapons that are deadly to my kind.
- Safalaan Hallow: How?
- Vanescula Drakan: Well I'm no scientist, oddly enough. But from what I can tell, even when chopped away, the wood of the tree is very much alive. It shifts and grows in unpredictable ways, rendering our immunities useless.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I see where we're going with this. You want us to use this tree to construct new weapons?
- Vanescula Drakan: Well... not quite. While not perfect, the work you've already done has potential. I see no need to completely discard it.
- Vanescula Drakan: Instead, I suggest we use wood from the Blisterwood tree to enhance the weapons you already have. When combined with the wood, I imagine that flail of yours will be quite effective.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Perfect for killing your brother. Assuming you don't kill us first.
- Vanescula Drakan: Again with this? I've already told you, I have no need to kill you. Once Lowerniel is gone, I envisage a new age, where my kind and yours live in harmony. I need you alive for that.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I'll believe it when I see it.
- Vanescula Drakan: That's fine by me.
- Safalaan Hallow: We're getting sidetracked here. We need some wood from this Blisterwood tree. Where do we find it?
- Vanescula Drakan: Ah... that's the tricky bit. I know only of one Blisterwood tree. It lies in Efaritay's old Arboretum, in the middle of Darkmeyer.
- Safalaan Hallow: It's in the capital? We'll have no hope of getting in there.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I don't see why we'd need to. Vanescula here can get some of this wood for us.
- Vanescula Drakan: Really now? Do you think I have any intention of touching a tree that can kill vampyres? No. You will need to recover the wood yourself.
- Player: How?
- Vanescula Drakan: Darkmeyer isn't as impenetrable as you might think. I know of a way you can get in. But first, you'll need a disguise.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, luckily for us, my kind have some shapeshifting abilities. Many vampyres, such as myself, prefer to take on a human form. That means you should be able to fit in... with the right outfit of course.
- Safalaan Hallow: Trader Sven sells vyrewatch disguises. We've used them in the past.
- Vanescula Drakan: Not bad, but we'll want to make some adjustments. We need you looking less like a vyrewatch and more like a noble.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Polmafi knows how to use a needle. He should be able to sort us out.
- Safalaan Hallow: Good idea. [player name], could you pick up a vyrewatch disguise from Trader Sven? He lives in sector one of Meiyerditch, directly south of Old Man Ral's house.
- Player: Will do. I'm guessing I should take it to Polmafi after that?
- Safalaan Hallow: That's right. He and the others have gone back to the Meiyerditch hideout, in Old Man Ral's basement.
- Vanescula Drakan: Once you have the disguise, we will need to scent it. We will discuss that once you have it.
- Player: Okay, I'll be back when I have the disguise.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: You should get going friend. That disguise won't sort itself out.
- Player: Okay. I'll see you later.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: What do I need to be doing?
- Safalaan Hallow: Go and buy a vyrewatch disguise from Trader Sven. His house is the one directly south of Old Man Ral's, in sector one of Meiyerditch.
- Player: And once I have the disguise?
- Safalaan Hallow: Deliver it to Polmafi at the Meiyerditch hideout, in Old Man Ral's basement.
- Player: Okay, I shall return later.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You're meant to be working with Polmafi to create a suitable disguise. Now, off you go.
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Right, I'd better get going.
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Actually, never mind.
Talking to Polmafi if the player already have a vyrewatch outfit
[edit | edit source]
- Player: I need to look like a vampyre noble. Safalaan suggested we use a vyrewatch disguise from Trader Sven as a starting point.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: That's a good idea. Do you have a vyrewatch disguise with you?
- Player: Yes I do.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Great. Hand it over and I'll get to work.
Here you go.
- Player: Here you go.
You give Polmafi the vyrewatch disguise.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Here's your finished disguise. Be careful out there.
Polmafi gives you a finished vyre noble disguise.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: There was enough material for some spares. I'll leave them in the chest in the corner in case you need more.
- (End of dialogue)
I'll keep it for now.
- Player: I'll keep it for now.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Well I can't make your new disguise until you give it to me.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Polmafi if the player does not already have a vyrewatch outfit
[edit | edit source]
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Good to see you [player name]. How are things going?
- Player: Not too bad. We've managed to recover some more haemalchemy research. We think it can be used to further improve our weaponry.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Well that's good to hear. Anything I can help with?
- Player: Yes, actually. To make the improved weapons, I need to infiltrate the city of Darkmeyer. For that, I need a disguise. Veliaf said you'd be able to help.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: The city of Darkmeyer? Oh my! You'd better be careful.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Anyhow, yes I should be able to help. What kind of disguise do you need?
- Player: I need to look like a vampyre noble. Safalaan suggested we use a vyrewatch disguise from Trader Sven as a starting point.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: That's a good idea. Do you have a vyrewatch disguise with you?
- Player: Not yet.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Do you mind fetching one?
- Player: Sure. I'll see if I can get one from Trader Sven.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Polmafi again without getting a vyrewatch outfit
[edit | edit source]
- Polmafi Ferdygris: Hello there. Do you have a vyrewatch disguise yet?
- Player: Not yet.
- Polmafi Ferdygris: I'll be here once you have.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Polmafi again after getting a vyrewatch outfit

Talking to Vanescula before getting a vyre noble disguise
[edit | edit source]
- Vanescula Drakan: Do you have the disguise?
- Player: Not yet.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well we can't go any further then. Return once you have it.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Vanescula after getting a vyre noble disguise
[edit | edit source]
- Vanescula Drakan: Do you have the disguise?
- Player: I have it here.
- Vanescula Drakan: Wonderful. Now, as mentioned earlier, we will need to scent this disguise. My kind have a keen sense of smell and will quickly notice an imposter if they don't smell right.
- Safalaan Hallow: What do we need to scent it with?
- Vanescula Drakan: Blood of course. The blood of a vyre.
- Player: So I kill a vyrewatch and use their blood to scent the disguise?
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh... no, no, no. A vyrewatch will not do. We want you to blend in with the nobles. That means we need the blood of a noble.
- Veliaf Hurtz: There's a difference?
- Vanescula Drakan: Of course. The lords and ladies of Darkmeyer won't go interacting with any old rabble.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Of course. Go on then, give us some of your blood.
- Vanescula Drakan: Oh dear Veliaf, you misunderstand. The smell of my blood will be far too recognisable to work. We need someone a bit more obscure.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Ah yes, how silly of me to not realise. You clearly have a vampyre in mind. Spit it out.
- Vanescula Drakan: I think we use this as an opportunity to deal with two issues in one. Damien Leucurte has become a problem that needs to be resolved. He is also a noble, albeit a lesser one.
- Safalaan Hallow: So we kill Damien and use his blood. Sounds good to me.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Indeed. Let's get it done. [player name], meet me outside the church in Slepe. We're going to pay Damien a little visit.
- Safalaan Hallow: If you want, you can use the boat to quickly get to Slepe. Should be faster than walking.
- Player: Good idea. Veliaf, I'll see you there.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Meet me outside the church in Slepe. We're going to pay Damien a little visit.
- Player: Okay, I'll see you there.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: You should meet up with Veliaf in Slepe. We'll talk later.
- Player: Okay. Until then.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You need to kill Damien Leucurte and use his blood to scent your disguise. Run along now.
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Right, I'd better get going.
Why do you hate your brother?
How did Ranis capture Ascertes Hallow?
Why did Lowerniel shut down the Haemalchemy Laboratory?
Actually, never mind.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Got what you need?
- Player: Looks like it.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Good. I don't want to stick around this place any longer than needed. I will meet you back at the graveyard.
What do you think this means for Slepe?
- Player: What do you think this means for Slepe?
- Veliaf Hurtz: The death of Damien can't do any harm. That said, don't expect this to suddenly fix everything around here. The Sleeper Plague isn't the only illness in this town.
- Player: You mean their religion?
- Veliaf Hurtz: I do. The people here chose to follow Zamorak. A choice like that has consequences. Bad ones.
- Player: You think they are being punished?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Not exactly. I don't believe in fate myself. I'm sure someone like Drezel would say otherwise, though. I just think that if you play with fire, you're going to end up getting burnt.
- Player: So do you think the Sleeper Plague will go away now?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well there shouldn't be any new cases now that Damien and Kroy are gone. That won't help those already infected though.
- Player: Maybe there's a cure.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Maybe. I suspect this town holds a lot of secrets... but now is not the time to explore them. We have other business to attend to.
Do you think Safalaan is doing okay?
How are you feeling about working with Vanescula?
I'll see you at the graveyard.
- Player: I'll see you at the graveyard.
- (End of dialogue)
Do you think Safalaan is doing okay?
- Player: Do you think Safalaan is doing okay?
- Veliaf Hurtz: You tell me. You've spent more time with him since his discovery.
- Player: He seems to be okay. At least, as okay as anyone could be in that situation. He seems to still be focused, and he's not lost his sense of humour.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Maintaining a good sense of humour is common coping mechanism when dealing with shock. I hope he's not just putting on a facade. If he's struggling, he should seek our support.
- Player: You're not wrong. But that's for him to decide. He knows we are there if he needs us.
- Veliaf Hurtz: It's good that he has people like you. I may have known him a long time, but I can't pretend to be any good at comforting people in such situations. I never manage to say the right thing.
- Player: And you think I do?
- Veliaf Hurtz: You can't be any worse than me. I'd take that as a victory.
- Player: Do you think things will improve for him?
- Veliaf Hurtz: I don't know. He may well soon come face to face with Lowerniel Drakan, the cause of all his pain. I hope he is ready for that.
- Veliaf Hurtz: And then there's Vanstrom, of course. Their paths are likely to cross again before all this is over. And when that happens, who knows what the outcome will be.
What do you think this means for Slepe?
How are you feeling about working with Vanescula?
I'll see you at the graveyard.
How are you feeling about working with Vanescula?
- Player: How are you feeling about working with Vanescula?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well, she hasn't killed us yet, which I consider a win. It seems she spoke the truth about wanting her brother dead.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Of course, I still fully expect her to betray us once he's gone.
- Player: But you're still willing to go ahead with this?
- Veliaf Hurtz: I wouldn't say I'm 'willing' as such, but what other choice do I have? The others want to do it and I'll be damned if I'm just going to leave them to their fates.
- Veliaf Hurtz: That doesn't mean I haven't been considering contingencies, of course. I've asked Ivan to prepare us a teleport spell in case we need to make a hasty exit.
- Player: Seems sensible to me. Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
What do you think this means for Slepe?
Do you think Safalaan is doing okay?
I'll see you at the graveyard.
I'll see you there.
- Player: I'll see you there
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: No need for us to stick around this place any more. I will meet you back at the graveyard.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Do you have the disguise?
- Player: Not yet.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I sent some of Damien's blood to Polmafi. Speak to him if you need a replacement disguise.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Well well, the vampyre slayer returns. Two of my brothers, now Damien as well. Quite the body count you're amassing.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Two of your brothers?
- Vanescula Drakan: Did you not know? [player name] here isn't just responsible for killing Ranis. He also killed our younger brother, Draynor.
- Player: Count Draynor, he called himself. He wasn't much of a challenge compared to Ranis and Damien, truth be told.
- Vanescula Drakan: Ah yes, the great 'Count' Draynor. He loved his stupid titles. He was weak even before he got trapped on the wrong side of the Salve. A coward as well.
- Vanescula Drakan: There's a reason Lowerniel had him banished. I'm just surprised he lasted as long as he did.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, I assume you have a finished disguise?
- Player: I do.
- Vanescula Drakan: Wonderful. Now we're getting somewhere. With that disguise, you should be ready to enter Darkmeyer.
- Safalaan Hallow: But how does he get into the city? The place is a fortress.
- Vanescula Drakan: Almost, but not quite. I know of a small weakness in the southern wall. A crack, in sector six of Meiyerditch, just north of the daeyalt mine.
- Vanescula Drakan: It should be big enough for you to squeeze through, as long as you haven't recently eaten an excess of cakes.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Seems suspiciously convenient. Why hasn't the crack been filled in?
- Vanescula Drakan: My kind are struggling to feed themselves. They've currently got bigger worries than cracks in walls.
- Vanescula Drakan: Besides, up until now, why would any human even consider entering Darkmeyer? Perhaps you hadn't noticed, my kind is not known for treating humans well.
- Safalaan Hallow: Although you expect us to live in harmony once this is done. How are we meant to achieve that when each side hates the other?
- Vanescula Drakan: I never said it would be easy. I don't expect us to kill my brother and then have a big party. It will be work, but given time, that work will pay off.
- Veliaf Hurtz: We'll see.
- Player: So that aside, I can use this crack to enter Darkmeyer? What then?
- Vanescula Drakan: You'll need to get to Efaritay's Arboretum in the middle of the city. The city architects gave it facelift to help it blend in, but it's still impossible to miss.
- Vanescula Drakan: Once inside, you'll need to chop some logs from the Blisterwood tree. We'll need enough to arm everyone, so eight logs in total.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, whatever happens, you must not let your true identity be exposed. If a member of the Myreque was found in Darkmeyer, the entire city would be locked down.
- Player: Any tips for blending in?
- Vanescula Drakan: Well keep your disguise on for a start. You'll want a suitable name as well. Your current one isn't very fitting. If anyone asks, you're called [vampyre name].
- Safalaan Hallow: [vampyre name]. It suits you, [player name].
- Player: [vampyre name], right. Anything else I should know?
- Vanescula Drakan: I expect you to see many things you consider undesirable while in Darkmeyer, especially where your kind are concerned.
- Vanescula Drakan: While you may be tempted to get involved, don't. Stay in character no matter what.
- Player: Okay, I'll be back once I have the logs. Wish me luck.
- Safalaan Hallow: Good luck [player name]. Myreque prevail.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Myreque prevail [player name].
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: You should get going friend. Darkmeyer awaits.
- Player: Okay. I'll see you later.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Good luck. Myreque prevail.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Be careful in Darkmeyer, friend. I can't even imagine how dangerous that city is.
- Player: Don't worry, I shall be.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You need to infiltrate Darkmeyer and recover eight logs from the Blisterwood tree. Now, off you go.

- Player: Hey there.
- Mordan Nikazsi: I'm not interested in making small talk.
- Player: Suit yourself.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Desmodus Lasiurus before attempting to enter the Arboretum
[edit | edit source]
- Desmodus Lasiurus: What do you want?
- Player: To go in the Arboretum.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Well you can't.
- Player: Why not?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Because nobody can go in the Arboretum.
- Player: That can't be true. Someone must be allowed in?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Who are you?
- Player: [vampyre name]. I'm new here.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Clearly. Well [vampyre name], you're wrong. No one can go in the Arboretum, by order of the Drakan family themselves.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Why do you want to go in, anyway?
- Player: Do you actually care?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: No, but I have a job to do.
- Player: What will it take for you to let me in? There must be something you want. Do you want money?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: I have no need for your money.
- Player: What then?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Eugh, fine! There's something I need doing. Get it done for me and I'll grant you access.
- Player: Great! What do you need?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: There's a juvinate who was meant to deliver something to me. He hasn't shown up. Find him and tell him that Desmodus Lasiurus is getting impatient.
- Player: Sure thing! What's he meant to be delivering?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Some slaves. You heard of Gadderanks? He was some human that Vanstrom used to help collect blood tithes.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Well, he went and got himself killed by the Myreque. Vanstrom owed me a favour so he agreed to let me have his wife and child.
- Player: Oh... I see.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: You got a problem?
- Player: No.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Good. Mordan Nikazsi is the juvinate you're looking for. He'll be somewhere in the lowest tier of the city. Now, get lost!
- (End of dialogue)
- Desmodus Lasiurus: What are you doing?
- Player: Trying to enter the Arboretum.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Well you can't.

- Desmodus Lasiurus: Did you find Mordan Nikazsi?
- Player: No.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Why are you here then? He'll be somewhere in the lowest tier of the city. Go find him!
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Desmodus after finding Mordan, but before getting the slaves back
[edit | edit source]
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Did you find Mordan Nikazsi?
- Player: I did.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: And?
- Player: He sold your slaves to Alexei Jovkai.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: That filthy wretch! I'll have him killed for this! Go find my slaves and bring them to me!
- (End of dialogue)
- Mordan Nikazsi: What do you want?
- Player: Are you Mordan Nikazsi?
- Mordan Nikazsi: Yes, what of it?
- Player: Desmodus Lasiurus sent me.
- Mordan Nikazsi: Oh great, just what I need.
- Player: He wants his slaves. When are you planning to deliver them?
- Mordan Nikazsi: I'm not. He shan't be getting his slaves.
- Player: Err... Why not?
- Mordan Nikazsi: Because I sold them to someone else.
- Player: What? Why?
- Mordan Nikazsi: Why? Because I'm starving that's why! You lords and ladies probably haven't noticed yet, but you will soon enough. It's only a matter of time before you all run out of blood as well!
- Player: So you sold them for blood? Did you not think Desmodus would notice?
- Mordan Nikazsi: If I didn't do something I'd have been dead anyway. Better a quick death at Desmodus' hands than a slow one due to starvation!
- Player: Look I don't care what happens between you and Desmodus, I just need to recover those slaves. Who did you sell them to?
- Mordan Nikazsi: Don't waste your time, you won't get them back.
- Player: Why?
- Mordan Nikazsi: Because I sold them to Lord Alexei Jovkai, one of the most powerful vampyres in the city. He looks at you the same way you look at me. He'll never let you have them.
- Player: We'll see. Where can I find him?
- Mordan Nikazsi: He lives in the upper part of the city, but the slaves won't be there. He has a prison north of the Arboretum. That's where you'll find them.
- Player: Sounds like I need to visit this prison then.
- Mordan Nikazsi: Fine.
- (End of dialogue)
Talking to Mordan again before finding Desmodus' slaves
[edit | edit source]
- Mordan Nikazsi: Why are you back again?
- Player: Remind me, where can I find Desmodus' slaves?
- Mordan Nikazsi: They're not his slaves. They belong to Alexei Jovkai now. He'll be keeping them in his prison north of the Arboretum.
- Player: Sounds like I need to visit this prison then.
- Mordan Nikazsi: Fine.
- (End of dialogue)
- Mordan Nikazsi: What do you want?
- Player: Nothing.
- Mordan Nikazsi: Go away then.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vyrewatch: Leave me alone. I have a job to do.
- (End of dialogue)
- Maria Gadderanks: I thought we might do okay here but I guess we have another new owner now.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vyrewatch: Why are you still here? Go tell Lasiurus that his slaves will be with him soon.
- (End of dialogue)
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Have you sorted my slaves out?
- Player: It's all dealt with. They'll be with you soon.
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Good. Maybe you're not as useless as you look.
- Player: I can go in the Arboretum now, then?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Yes. Just don't tell anyone I let you in.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Can I go in the Arboretum?
- Desmodus Lasiurus: Yes. Now leave me alone.
- (End of dialogue)
- Banker: What do you want?
- Player: I want to access my bank account.
- Banker: No.
- Player: No?
- Banker: No.
- Player: Why?
- Banker: Newcomers aren't allowed to use the bank. Come back once you've earned our trust.

- Player: I don't have time to poke around down there. I have work to do.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: Now's not the time for searching through corpses. I have work to do.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: What are you selling?
- Vendor: To you? Nothing.
- Player: Why?
- Vendor: You're new here. I don't sell to new blood. Make a name for yourself and maybe I'll reconsider.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: You're back. Do you have the logs?
- Player: Not yet.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well run along then. We need eight logs from the blisterwood tree.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: You're back. Do you have the logs?
- Player: Yes, I have them here.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Good work [player name]. Did it all go okay?
- Player: It was a bit close at times. But I managed it.
- Vanescula Drakan: A bit close? You nearly blew everything with your little run in with Vanstrom. It was a good job I had Sarius keep an eye on you.
- Player: Spying on me?
- Vanescula Drakan: I just wasn't convinced you'd be able to do the job. It seems I was right to be cautious.
- Player: I had it under control. By the way, where is Safalaan?
- Veliaf Hurtz: He said he needed a walk. I told him not to, but he insisted he'd be fine.
- Vanescula Drakan: You worry too much. Safalaan is a big boy.
- Vanescula Drakan: Now, [player name]. Time to get these weapons made.
- Player: What do I need to do?
- Vanescula Drakan: I've given your friend Vertida the required information. He will show you what to do.
- Veliaf Hurtz: He's at the Meiyerditch hideout. Make sure to take the logs with you. The others need them for their own weapons.
- Player: Right then. I'll be back once the weapons are made.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Deliver those blisterwood logs to Vertida in the Meiyerditch hideout. He'll show you how to make the new weapons out of them.
- Player: Right, I'll be back later.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You're meant to be working with Vertida to make the blisterwood weaponry.
- Vertida Sefalatis: Myreque prevail, [player name].
- Player: Myreque prevail, Vertida.
- Vertida Sefalatis: I hear you're meant to be bringing us some logs. Do you have them?
- Player: Not yet.
- Vertida Sefalatis: I'll be here once you have them. We need eight in total.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vertida Sefalatis: Myreque prevail, [player name].
- Player: Myreque prevail, Vertida.
- Vertida Sefalatis: I hear you're meant to be bringing us some logs. Do you have them?
- Player: Yes, I have them here.
- Vertida Sefalatis: Great. Could I have seven of them?
Here you go.
I'll keep them for now.
- Player: I'll keep them for now.
- Vertida Sefalatis: Well let me know when you're ready to hand them over.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well met, [player name]. Do you have your weapon?
- Player: Not yet.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well off you go then. You'll need it before we go any further.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: Well met, [player name]. I'm guessing you have your weapon?
- Player: That's right. I'm prepared.
- Veliaf Hurtz: And you took the logs to the others?
- Player: I did indeed.
- Vanescula Drakan: Then we are ready.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Safalaan isn't back yet.
- Player: Do you know where he went?
- Veliaf Hurtz: There's a path just north of the graveyard. He went for a walk in that direction.
- Player: I'll see if I can find him.
- Vanescula Drakan: Don't take too long.
- (End of dialogue)
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Veliaf Hurtz: You need to try and find Safalaan. He went for a walk just north of the graveyard.
- Player: Okay, I'll be back once I've found him.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes?
- Player: I wanted to ask you something.
- Vanescula Drakan: Be quick then.
What should I be doing?
- Player: What should I be doing?
- Vanescula Drakan: You're meant to be finding Safalaan. Off you go.

- Ivan Strom: So this is it. End of the line. Good luck [player name]. I'll see you on the other side.
- Player: Good luck Ivan. Myreque prevail.
- (End of dialogue)
- Vanstrom Klause: Vanescula? What's going on here?
- Vanescula Drakan: Vanstrom. I am here with a gift for my brother.
- Vanstrom Klause: But... that's the Myreque.
- Vanescula Drakan: Yes. All the Myreque.
- Vanstrom Klause: I don't understand. How?
- Vanescula Drakan: Your efforts were valiant, Vanstrom. But alas, they were unsuccessful. I decided to take matters into my own hands, using a new tactic.
- Vanescula Drakan: I negotiated with them. Convinced them that I was on their side. After that, bringing them in was trivial.
- Vanstrom Klause: I... I'm sorry my lady, but this just seems too good to be true.
- Vanescula Drakan: Well it is true. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'd best be getting inside.
- Vanstrom Klause: But...
Lowerniel Drakan appears in front of the castle doors.
- Lowerniel Drakan: I rememeber when I was young. Our father would take me out into the woods, hunting.
- Lowerniel Drakan: That was where I truly discovered what it meant to be alive.
- Lowerniel Drakan: The constant fear. That knowledge that if you fail, your very life may well be over.
- Lowerniel Drakan: But then at the same time, the thrill. The thrill of the chase. Of the conquest. Nothing can match it.
- Lowerniel Drakan: One day, he decided to bring my sister along. He felt it was time for her to develop her own taste for the hunt.
- Lowerniel Drakan: She was a natural. A raw talent I had never seen before, and rarely since. I felt a unique pride that day.
- Lowerniel Drakan: That wasn't all, of course. There were so many things she excelled at. So many talents.
- Lowerniel Drakan: But lying, Vanescula?
- Lowerniel Drakan: Lying was never one of them.
- Vanescula Drakan: Brother. I don't...
- Lowerniel Drakan: Tell me, Vanescula. What is the cause of this latest betrayal? How is it I have displeased you this time?
- Vanescula Drakan: I don't know what...
- Lowerniel Drakan: Vanescula, please. This veil of lies is thinner than the humans you feast upon.
- Lowerniel Drakan: Now, the truth.
- Vanescula Drakan: I...
- Vanescula Drakan: Alright.
- Vanescula Drakan: You have been gone too long, brother. While you spend your days hidden away, lamenting about that stupid rock, our kind suffer.
- Vanescula Drakan: Out there, in your city, they're starving. There's not enough blood to go around and their great leader is unwilling to provide a solution.
- Vanescula Drakan: Something has to change, or we're doomed.
- Lowerniel Drakan: Vanescula, my dear sister. You disappoint me.
- Lowerniel Drakan: You and your kind, you have spent your years engrossing yourself in culture, in aristocracy. Pretending to be something you're not.
- Lowerniel Drakan: And in that time, you have forgotten something.
- Lowerniel Drakan: Allow me to remind you.
- Lowerniel Drakan: I am Lowerniel Vergidiyad Drakan, ruler of Morytania and the lord of Vampyrium.
- Lowerniel Drakan: And when you play your games of politics, you do not do so because you're smarter than me.
- Lowerniel Drakan: When you weave your words and make your schemes, you are not getting the better of me.
- Lowerniel Drakan: No. You do these things only because I allow it. Because your plots are so insignificant to me, that I do not even care to pay attention to them.
- Lowerniel Drakan: But now Vanescula, now you have my attention. And now, you will be reminded what it means to cross the lord of Vampyrium.
Lowerniel instantly kills all four of Vanescula's vyrewatch sentinels.
- Vanescula Drakan: No!
Vanescula transforms into her vyre form, ready to fight her brother. However, he instantly subdues her.
- Radigad Ponfit: Let's get him!
- Kael Forshaw: For Andiess!
- Veliaf Hurtz: No! Wait!
Radigad, Kael, Vertida, and Polmafi are instantly incinerated.
- Safalaan Hallow: Kael! Vertida!
- Lowerniel Drakan: Vanstrom.
- Vanstrom Klause: My... my lord?
- Lowerniel Drakan: Are you still loyal?
- Vanstrom Klause: Yes, my lord.
- Lowerniel Drakan: Good. Deal with the rest of this. My sister and I have much to discuss.
Lowerniel teleports away with an unconscious Vanescula.
- Vanstrom Klause: I've waited a long time for this day. The day that the Myreque finally die.
- Vanstrom Klause: There'll be no hellhounds or abominations this time though. This time...
- Vanstrom Klause: ...I'll deal with you myself.
- Safalaan Hallow: Wait!
- Veliaf Hurtz: Safalaan don't!
- Vanstrom Klause: Well, well. Safalaan Hallow.
- Vanstrom Klause: How long I have wished to end your pitiful life...
- Safalaan Hallow: Stop! Just stop for a moment and think. This isn't who you really are!
- Safalaan Hallow: You had a life before all of this. A life as Ascertes Hallow, my father.
- Safalaan Hallow: Please! Think back to those days. Think back to who you used to be.
- Vanstrom Klause: You talk too much.
- Vanstrom Klause: Shall we begin?
Vanstrom attacks the player
- Vanstrom Klause: Blood will be my strength!
- Vanstrom Klause: My pets will feast on your corpse!
- Vanstrom Klause: Stare into darkness!
- Vanstrom Klause: Ha! Did you think you could beat me that easily?
- Vanstrom Klause: See if you can survive this!
- Veliaf Hurtz: We need to get back to Darkmeyer.
- If the player has a blisterwood flail:
- If the player does not have a blisterwood flail:
- Player: But I've lost my flail.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Luckily for you, I had another made. Although I'll have to charge you for it.
- Player: How much?
- Veliaf Hurtz: 40,000 coins.
- If the player does not have 40,000 coins:
- Player: I don't have that much.
- Veliaf Hurtz: I'll be here when you do.
- (End of dialogue)
- If the player has at least 40,000 coins:
Yes.
No.
- Player: That's a bit too much for me. I guess I'll make myself another one instead.
- (End of dialogue)
- Veliaf Hurtz: I've managed to retrieve some of your things. I imagine you'll want them back.
- (Death reclaim interface interface opens.)
Right click collect while Veliaf does not have any items
[edit | edit source]
- Veliaf Hurtz: I don't have anything for you friend. If I did have any of your items, but you died before collecting them, they'll now be lost.
- (End of dialogue)
- Safalaan Hallow: Enough! Stop this!
- Vanstrom Klause: Stop? And why would I want to do that?
- Safalaan Hallow: Father, please. You must remember something? Anything!
- Vanstrom Klause: Remember? I remember everything!
- Vanstrom Klause: I remember how weak Ascertes was! The pathetic love he had for his wife, for his children!
- Vanstrom Klause: I remember how good it felt! To be uplifted! To be made something more!
- Safalaan Hallow: No!
- Vanstrom Klause: And I remember the joy when I took your sister's skull and crushed it with my bare hands!
- Safalaan Hallow: No! No! No!
Safalaan's Icyene powers activate, killing Vanstrom and leaving himself unconscious. Meanwhile, two vyrewatch sentinels and a vyrewatch approach the remaining Myreque.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Safalaan!
- Ivan Strom: Veliaf...
- Veliaf Hurtz: [player name]! Safalaan! We need to go!
- Player: Safalaan?
- Safalaan Hallow: What... What have I done?
- Veliaf Hurtz: Ivan, teleport him out of there!
- Ivan Strom: I can't! He's too far away!
- Player: Safalaan please.
- Safalaan Hallow: What have I done?
A vyrewatch lands and approaches the player and Safalaan.
- Veliaf Hurtz: Damn you Safalaan! Damn you!
- Veliaf Hurtz: [player name], get over here! We need to go. Now!
Ivan teleports himself, Veliaf, and the player out of Castle Drakan, leaving Safalaan behind.
- Ivan Strom: [player name]. I have a tome here that I think belongs to you.
- Player: Thank you, Ivan.
