There are 6 hotspots available:
Removing the armour stand will return the armour pieces used to build it.
Trimmed armour cannot be used. Removing the armour stand will return the armour pieces used to build it.
- ^ Mahogany planks not required if upgrading from Mahogany display
Monster heads that have been stuffed by the taxidermist can be added to displays whilst in building mode. Each display can show trophies of its tier in addition to the ones of the previous tier; for example, the mahogany display can still be used to show off the basilisk, but not the King Black Dragon.
Mounted trophies are saved per account, and are shared between all other trophy displays in a house. Duplicate heads can be added for additional experience, provided that the player has stuffed them and are in building mode.
When mounting superlative trophies on a gilded display, players will be notified that combat experience will be given, and are given the option to accept or decline them before mounting them.

A staircase added to a skill hall on the ground floor will prompt the player to build it "Up" or "Down". When building an "Up" staircase, then attempting to climb the staircase, the Construction interface will ask if the player want to add a room at the top of the staircase. The rooms available at the top are either a quest hall or another skill hall. When building a staircase you will need to match the same staircase in the room made to enter that room. For example: Building a Marble spiral in a Hall (quest trophies) and choosing to build a Hall (skill trophies) above will cost 20x Teak plank + 14x Marble block. If the player builds a "Down" staircase, the player will have an additional option of building a dungeon stairs room.
