Achey Trees are uncommon lumber trees that require level 1 Woodcutting to chop, providing 25 Woodcutting experience per set of achey tree logs received. Achey trees are near exclusively cut to obtain achey tree logs, for the purpose of creating Ogre arrows and Brutal arrows. These arrows are required in the Big Chompy Bird Hunting quest and optional in the Zogre Flesh Eaters quest.

Achey trees are shown on the Worldmap and minimap as a bushy tree . The bushy tree image is shared with several other trees, so the icon and image does not directly mean it is an achey tree. Achey trees can be found in the following locations:

Mechanics

Achey trees become depleted after every set of achey logs are received. Achey trees take between 35.4 and 58.8 seconds to respawn. A roll to receive a log is done every 4 game ticks when chopping. The chance to successfully chop is affected by the axe used and Woodcutting level, better axes and a higher woodcutting level increases the likelihood of successfully receiving a log. Achey trees have a very low cut difficulty, and players with a high woodcutting level can max out the chance to receive a set of logs when chopping.

Additional drops

Beaver – Achey trees have a chance to drop the beaver Woodcutting pet. At level 1 Woodcutting there is a 1 in 317,622 chance to receive the beaver and a 1 in 315,172 chance at level 99.
Clue nest – Achey trees have a chance of dropping any tier of clue nest, based on Woodcutting level, the tree's base chance, and access to the reward tiers of Combat Achievements. See Clue nest § Woodcutting rates for a detailed breakdown.

Trivia

Achey trees do not have the depletion sound standard to most trees.
In the Haunted Woods there are trees that look exactly the same as achey trees, but are labelled as "tree" and cannot be cut down. Their examine text says "It's covered in slime."
While achey trees drop clue nests, they do not drop any other type of bird nest.^[1]
