A big fishing net can be purchased from various fishing shops. It is mainly used on Net/Harpoon fishing spots, however there are two different big net fishing spots available at Camdozaal and Civitas illa Fortis. Because of the large variety of practically worthless fish and other objects that will quickly fill the player's inventory while fishing in this way, it is rarely used other than for the bass it produces, which may be used with a ring of charos (a) to re-enchant lyres, or caskets which may rarely contain half keys or higher-level talismans.

If a player is lucky, the net may catch multiple (2-9) fish and/or items at once. Each fish/item has one roll, except for raw mackerel which has two.^[1] The net is also able to catch big bass. Wearing a skills necklace with at least one charge while big net fishing will slightly increase the chance of finding a casket.^[2]

If multiple types of fish are gained in the same catch, the player will receive a roll to obtain the heron pet for each type of fish that is caught.^[3]

Big fishing net spots

There are 3 different types of big fishing net spots. The Big net, harpoon spot exists all over Gielinor whereas the fishing spot (Camdozaal) and fishing spot (Civitas illa Fortis) only exist in their respective locations.

Big net, harpoon spot

The Big net, harpoon spot is most common spot for big net fishing. It can be found all around Gielinor in these locations:

Fishing spot at Camdozaal

The fishing spots at the Ruins of Camdozaal have an option for small net and bait fishing along with an option for big net fishing. The following can be caught with a big fishing net at these spots:

Fishing spot at Civitas illa Fortis

The big net fishing spot at Civitas illa Fortis is unique in that it doesn't provide the player with any raw fish. Its main draw is the house keys and gems. The fishing spot gives 7.5 experience per catch, regardless of what is obtained, except for caskets, which give 10 experience per catch.
