The crystal impling is the third highest-level impling that can be caught in Gielinor. Players require at least 80 Hunter (or level 74 with a super hunter potion) to capture this type of impling with a butterfly net, and optionally an impling jar. At level 90 Hunter, crystal implings can be caught barehanded. Capturing a crystal impling grants 280 Hunter experience.

Currently, crystal implings can only be caught from rare spawns within Prifddinas. One may be found at a time on each world, respawning at :00 and :30, and becoming visible 3 minutes afterward.

Strategy

[edit | edit source]

There are two main methods in finding crystal implings: looping, and world hopping.

Crystal impling spawns in Prifddinas.

Looping

[edit | edit source]

The player will run in a large circle around Prifddinas. Start by the altar in the Hefin District and run East, turning South at the crystal tree patch, West at the General Store, then North at the Iorwerth Dungeon entrance. Complete the lap at the altar, use Vile Vigour or Stamina potions, and then hop to the next world. If you used Vile Vigour, remember to pray at the altar. If you find a crystal impling before completing the lap, hop immediately to the next world and hop only once you have touched that spot on the next lap.

World Hopping

[edit | edit source]

The player will pick a crystal impling hotspot and repeatedly hop worlds, stopping only to catch any crystal implings on screen. Hotspots include: Prifddinas player-owned house, Prifddinas north bank, and Prifddinas south bank. Because crystal implings only become visible after respawning at :05 and :35, it is best to begin hopping immediately following this time frame.

At current Grand Exchange prices, opening a crystal impling jar gives 61,920.00 worth of loot on average, not including any received crystal shards. If using all crystal shards to make divine super combat potions, including those from growing crystal acorns into crystal trees with ultracompost, the value becomes 111,473.00.

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • The names given in the crystal impling's examine texts refer to the individual names of implings found in Daffyd's house in the Amlodd Clan district of RuneScape 3's Prifddinas after having caught certain types of implings. These are named after the team of Jagex Moderators who developed Prifddinas in RuneScape.
