Fossil Storage crates allow players to store fossils discovered on Fossil Island and retrieve them from any of the other Fossil Storage crates. There are six found throughout Fossil Island, and one in the basement of the Varrock Museum.
To use the fossil storage, players may click the box to open up the Fossil Storage window, where they can then deposit or withdraw fossils by clicking on them, and can choose to deposit or withdraw more than one, similar to a bank deposit box. For those with a bank PIN, it's required to input it before accessing, if players haven't done so already at a normal bank.
Clean or uncleaned fossils can be added to any of the storage crates around Fossil Island as the contents of the storage crates are synchronised; this means fossils can be cleaned in the Museum Camp, stored in the storage crate and then collected from the storage crate in the basement of the Varrock Museum when they are ready to be added to exhibits, thus avoiding having to take multiple inventories back and forth between the camp and museum.
Only 510 of each type of fossil stack can be stored in the crate, allowing a total of 2,805,000 prayer experience to be "banked" in the form of fossils before enriching them.
