The redundant hat was an unobtainable item that was added to the cache with the 2017 Winter Deadman finals. It originally had the name "Dmm ref hat" and was listed on the Grand Exchange. Presumably it was supposed to be used in the finals.

The item was a copy of the ancestral hat. It was removed from the Grand Exchange after a week.
