Evil twin is a random event in which the player is teleported into a room at an unknown location by Postie Pete, at the request of Molly. She claims her twin sister has been committing crimes around Gielinor, and she was being blamed for it. Although she has finally been able to capture her sister, she has also dragged several other female bystanders with her, and now she needs the player to help her separate her from the innocent bystanders.
Her sister and the other women are in a large pen in the room next to the one Molly is in. Once players leave the first room, they can't see anything until their task is complete. However, clicking on the door will make Molly's chathead appear, giving players a hint if they forgot what she looked like.
The goal of this random event is for players to go the other room and use the controllers of a crane to choose the evil twin between the suspects. Players get a maximum of two chances to choose the correct person. Once the evil twin has been successfully captured, Molly will reward the player with 2-4 uncut gems, up to diamond.
If players fail to choose the evil twin, they will be teleported to a random location in Gielinor with no reward. For both members and free-to-play players, there are 34 distinct locations that Molly may choose to teleport the player, most of them in fairly obscure locations not commonly visited by players.
The crane in this event does not operate while using mobile version.
The average Evil Twin event reward is worth 3,598.5.
The locations you can be teleported to when failing the random event are split between free-to-play and members locations. Even though some locations on the members-only list are accessible on free-to-play worlds, those locations are not possible destinations of failing the event on free-to-play worlds.

The Evil Twin random event now pauses your prayer points from draining while you're in the event.

- If the player attempts to lower the crane while it is positioned over the cage, they will receive the message "You're supposed to be putting people in there, not taking them out!"
- There is an inaccessible door in the lower area with an "open" option. This door is the same object as the accessible one that the player uses to talk with Molly and to leave the event, and it was confirmed to function identically to it.[1]
