Rick Turpentine is likely based on Richard "Dick" Turpin, an 18th century English highwayman who was executed and romanticized as dashing and heroic after his death, becoming the subject of numerous ballads and plays.
While underwater, Rick Turpentine will be wearing a diving apparatus and fishbowl helmet.
