A Slayer cape is the Cape of Accomplishment for players who have achieved level 99 in the Slayer skill. The cape can be purchased for 99,000 coins from Duradel (or Kuradal after completion of While Guthix Sleeps), in Shilo Village. Slayer capes are black in colour, and have a red trim if the player has more than one level 99 skill. As Duradel is in Shilo Village, players must have completed the Shilo Village quest in order to buy the cape.
Like all skill capes, the Slayer cape gives +9 to all defensive stats, and also a +4 bonus to prayer if it is trimmed, which requires a separate skill at level 99. The cape is automatically trimmed if this condition is met.
When the Slayer cape is equipped or in the inventory, there is a 10% chance of being given the option to have their previous Slayer task reassigned by the same Slayer Master the player got their last task from, either in person or through the NPC Contact spell.[1] If activated on a boss task, the assigned boss can potentially be a different one. The perk also works on Konar quo Maten's tasks, who will retain the same assignment and location. Showing the cape to a master also bypasses combat level restrictions on tasks for lower-levelled accounts. When activated after skipping a task, they will offer the last task that was assigned, rather than the last one that was completed. If using Slayer Rewards#Task Storage, you can receive the same task you have stored, but the Slayer skillcape perk will not apply.
This item can be stored in the cape rack of a costume room, as part of the Slayer cape set, along with the hood. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.
As of 1 April 2026, there are 238,546 players that have achieved level 99 in Slayer.

Trivia
[edit | edit source]- If the player blocks a Slayer task and the cape's perk procs when receiving a new task afterward, they will be assigned a random task, with an accompanying message in the game chat stating
- The Slayer cape and the Hitpoints cape are much harder to obtain untrimmed than other capes of accomplishment, as players are likely to get a 99 in one of the other combat skills first. A few options for players who want to obtain this cape untrimmed include limiting Ranged experience to only be gained from a dwarf cannon while on tasks and in general as much as possible. Players should always prioritize Fight Caves tasks as much as possible too for the 25,250 Experience drop TzTok-Jad gives. Any Lamps gained through Random events and other activities should be put towards Slayer. Gaining Slayer experience through Temple Trekking Experience tomes can also help level Slayer ahead of other skills. In general, avoiding excess combat related experience while completing different tasks is essential, and balancing all combat training with other rewards can result in getting this cape untrimmed without going through too much trouble. Giving more focus towards avoiding barraging & bursting tasks and instead manually killing assigned monsters before any 99s are reached can also prove beneficial for intentionally avoiding combat experience in other skills prior to obtaining an untrimmed Slayer cape.[2]
