Currencies

Currencies are items for which the primary purpose is to be exchanged (for other items, services, or experience) in a consistent, repeatable fashion. Currencies are typically stackable and can be traded for a multitude of things.
Minigames often reward specific items or points that can be spent only in their respective reward shops, commonly referred to as "minigame currencies."
Traditional currencies
editCoins (gold pieces or "gp") are the main form of currency and are almost universal throughout Gielinor, as they are accepted by most shops.
| Currency | Location | Example usage | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coins | Most of Gielinor | Player trading, Grand Exchange, most NPC shops | |
| Platinum token | Any banker or bank | Fixed exchange rate of 1,000 coins : 1 Platinum token | |
Local currencies
editThe following currencies can only be spent within a particular territory.

Minigame/activity rewards
editMany minigames and activities reward unique tokens and vouchers that can be spent only at a specialty shop associated with that activity. Some rewards are not items but intangible "points" that accrue and appear only in specific interfaces. For example, Pizazz points are stored in a progress hat.
