Special patches

The Vinery, the location of grape patches, one of the many unique patch types in *Old School RuneScape*

Many varieties of unique farming patches exist across Gielinor, used exclusively for growing very specific plants. Most often, only a single type of seed can be planted in these patches; though some, such as the Anima patch, have a few seeds available.

The mechanics of each specific patch may also be different than similar patches more familiar to the player. For example the celastrus tree, while having celastrus bark to harvest, has a variable yield and doesn't regenerate, making it unlike regular or fruit trees.

Spirit tree patches

Unlike other trees, spirit trees are initially limited by the player's Farming level. Players can only have one planted at 83, two at 88, three at 93, and four at 96. Upon reaching 99 Farming, the restriction is removed, and players can plant unlimited spirit trees. Temporary boosts can be used to meet these requirements. The spirit tree in a superior garden in the player-owned house does not count towards this limit. There are currently 5 patches in which spirit trees can be planted.
