The Western Provinces Diary is an Achievement Diary whose tasks revolve around areas in the western provinces of Gielinor, such as the Tree Gnome Stronghold, Feldip Hills, Tirannwn, and Ape Atoll.

Several skill, quest, and item requirements are needed to complete all tasks. Unless stated otherwise, temporary skill boosts can be used to meet the skill requirements.

Rewards can be claimed from the Elder Gnome child just south of the Grand Tree in the Tree Gnome Stronghold. Tasks may be done in any order, but the previous tiers of a diary must be completed to claim rewards of the next tier.

Task	Requirements
1. Catch a Copper Longtail.	9 Hunter Bird snare
2. Complete a novice game of Pest Control. Note: You must've earnt commendation points for this task to count as completed. In Deadman Mode, the task is instead "Attempt to board the novice Pest Control lander with at least 40 combat."	40 Combat level
3. Mine some Iron Ore near Piscatoris. Note: This must be done at the Piscatoris mine.	15 Mining Any pickaxe
4. Complete a lap of the Gnome agility course.	None
5. Score a goal in a Gnomeball match.	None
6. Claim any Chompy bird hat from Rantz. Note: You need to have a (comp) ogre bow in your inventory to claim hats.	Completion of Big Chompy Bird Hunting Ogre bellows, (comp) ogre bow, and ogre or brutal arrows 30 chompy or jubbly bird kills
7. Teleport to Pest Control using the Minigame Teleport. Note: In Deadman Mode, the task is instead "Travel to the Void Knight Outpost from Port Sarim."	40 Combat level
8. Collect a swamp toad at the Gnome Stronghold. Note: Only a swamp toad collected from the swamp pen north-west of Grand Tree counts for this task.	None
9. Have Brimstail teleport you to the Essence Mine. Note: You can right-click him to teleport.	Completion of Rune Mysteries

Medium

Task	Requirements
1. Take the agility shortcut from the Grand Tree to Otto's Grotto.	Completion of Tree Gnome Village and The Grand Tree 37 Agility
2. Travel to the Gnome Stronghold by Spirit Tree.	Completion of Tree Gnome Village
3. Trap a Spined Larupia. Note: This creature is found in the Feldip Hunter area.	31 Hunter Teasing stick, logs, and a knife
4. Fish some Bass on Ape Atoll.	Partial completion of Monkey Madness I 46 Fishing Big fishing net
5. Chop and burn some teak logs on Ape Atoll. Note: With 50 Woodcutting and 50 Firemaking, you can also chop and burn some mahogany logs here for a hard task. 8. Claim a Chompy bird hat from Rantz after registering at least 125 kills. Note: You need to have a (comp) ogre bow in your inventory to claim hats.	Completion of Big Chompy Bird Hunting Ogre bellows, (comp) ogre bow, and ogre or brutal arrows 125 chompy or jubbly bird kills
9. Travel from Eagles' Peak to the Feldip Hills by Eagle. Note: You'll unlock travel from the Eagles' Peak Dungeon after the required quest.	Completion of Eagles' Peak Rope
10. Make a Chocolate Bomb at the Grand Tree.	42 Cooking Gnomebowl mould, Gianne dough, 4 chocolate bars, an equa leaf, 2 pots of cream, and chocolate dust (can all be purchased at Grand Tree Groceries)
11. Complete a delivery for the Gnome Restaurant.	Completion of the Gnome Restaurant tutorial 29-42 Cooking (varies per food)
12. Turn your small crystal seed into a Crystal saw. Note: You have to enchant it with the singing bowl in Brimstail's cave.	Completion of The Eyes of Glouphrie Crystal saw seed
13. Mine some Gold ore underneath the Grand Tree.	Completion of The Grand Tree 40 Mining Any pickaxe

Hard

Task	Requirements

3. Complete a Veteran game of Pest Control. Note: You must've earnt commendation points for this task to count as completed. In Deadman Mode, the task is instead "Attempt to board the veteran Pest Control lander with at least 100 combat."	100 Combat level
4. Catch a Dashing Kebbit. Note: This kebbit is found in the Piscatoris falconry area.	69 Hunter [b] 500 coins
5. Complete a lap of the Ape Atoll agility course.	Partial completion of Monkey Madness I 48 Agility Ninja monkey greegree or Kruk monkey greegree (other greegrees will cause you to fail the course)
6. Chop and burn some Mahogany logs on Ape Atoll. Note: Logs burnt by the Infernal axe do not count towards this task.	Partial completion of Monkey Madness I 50 Woodcutting and 50 Firemaking Any axe (excluding felling axes) and a tinderbox
7. Mine some Adamantite ore in Tirannwn. Note: This can be done in the Isafdar mine outside of Lletya, or the Trahaearn mine in Prifddinas (with completion of Song of the Elves).	Started Regicide 70 Mining [b] Any pickaxe

• Teleport crystals will now hold up to 5 charges, up from 3
• The void knight top and robe can now be upgraded into an elite void top and robe for 200 commendation points each, by speaking to the Elite Void Knight
• Access to the room with the monkey skull in the Temple of Marimbo Dungeon, allowing you to make the ancient gorilla greegree
• Access to the Hunting expert's private Red chinchompa hunting ground
• Islwyn now sells Crystal halberds for 750,000 coins, which can be wielded with 70 Attack and 35 Strength, and you gain the ability to create them yourself (with 78 Crafting and 78 Smithing)

Elite

Task	Requirements
1. Fletch a Magic Longbow in Tirannwn.	Started Regicide 85 Fletching [b] Magic longbow (u) and a bow string
2. Kill the Thermonuclear Smoke Devil. Note: While this boss normally requires a Slayer task, this is not needed for the first kill. You do not have to contact a Slayer master for this task. You must be in the room when its death animation ends, or the task will not be completed. Be mindful of this if you are attempting the Combat Achievements. If this occurs, you will still be able to kill it again without a slayer task.	93 Slayer [nb] See the strategy guide

• Chance of receiving a chompy chick when chompy bird hunting, at a rate of 1/500
• Rantz offers you 150 ogre arrows for free every day, worth a total of 37,500 coins on the Grand Exchange
• Nieve/Steve now grant as many slayer reward points as Duradel/Kuradal
• Resurrect with full health and restored stats once per day when you reach 0 hitpoints against Zulrah, allowing you to continue on with the fight (the task list of this diary will show you whether you've used this daily resurrection, and this is considered a "safe death" for Hardcore Ironman players)

19 March 2015 (Update)	Eluned will now charge your teleport crystal with 5 charges if you have completed the Western hard tasks. You can no longer kill Thermy without a slayer assignment if you haven't started the Western Achievement Diary.
