The Kandarin Diary is an Achievement Diary whose tasks revolve around areas in and near the northern part of Kandarin, such as Seers' Village, Catherby, and the Barbarian Outpost.

Several skill, quest, and item requirements are needed to complete all tasks. Unless stated otherwise, temporary skill boosts can be used to meet the skill requirements.

Rewards can be claimed from The 'Wedge' outside the entrance to Camelot. Tasks may be done in any order, but the previous tiers of a diary must be completed to claim rewards of the next tier.

2. Complete a lap of the Seers' Village agility course.
3. Create a Yew Longbow from scratch around Seers' Village.

[edit | edit source]
Task Requirements
1. Read the Blackboard at Barbarian Assault after reaching level 5 in every role.

Note: These levels are bought with honour points. Assuming no points are spent on armour or gambles, you'll need a total of 5,600 points (1,400 per role). In Deadman Mode, the task is instead "Read the Blackboard at Barbarian Assault after finishing your training."

2. Pick some Dwarf weed from the herb patch at Catherby.

Note: This is the herb patch next to Dantaera.

3. Fish and Cook 5 Sharks in Catherby using the Cooking gauntlets.

Note: You specifically have to use the range in the building between the Catherby bank and the archery shop, the one in the building immediately north of that doesn't count.

Extra sharks provided by Rada's blessing don't add up to the required number. Completing or updating any other task in-between these steps will reset the progress for this task.

4. Mix a Stamina Mix on top of the Seers' Village bank.

Note: You have to start the Seers' Village Agility Course to climb on top of the bank.

5. Smith a Rune Hasta at Otto's Grotto.
6. Construct a Pyre ship from Magic Logs.

Note: You must use chewed bones for the ship, not mangled bones.

7. Teleport to Catherby.
  1. ^ Ironmen must either have access to Fossil Island to kill lobstrosities for the caviar, or use a knife on a leaping sturgeon (see the first hard task of this diary for the requirements to catch one).

Trivia

[edit | edit source]
  • In RuneScape 3, this diary is known as the Seers' Village achievement set, which gives the reward of the Seer's headband. The first Kandarin headgear pays homage to this, as it is a leather headband that transforms into a helm after higher tiers are completed.
  • There were a few hints from the Old School RuneScape team about the enhanced excalibur before the diary update, but it wasn't added due to the fact that it would devalue the Saradomin godsword and Guthan's set.[2]
  • The task to equip a granite platebody would reset when the item was banked. This was later fixed.
