The colossal hydra is a superior variant of the hydra. It has a chance of spawning after purchasing the unlock Bigger and Badder for 50 Slayer reward points from any Slayer master. Like their standard variant, they will alternate between ranged and magic every three attacks.

Instead of spitting poison, the colossal hydra has a special attack similar to the lightning special attack of the Alchemical Hydra, where it will shoot out a ball of electricity that splits into two lightning currents that chase after the player for some time, dealing moderate (up to ~18) damage and paralysing the player for 4 ticks (2.4s) if caught. It will use this special attack after every five standard attacks; as this does not line up with the timing of the attack style switch, caution should be taken when switching protection prayers.

Drops

In addition to 100% drops and tertiary drops, superior slayer monsters will always roll 3 additional items, of which only 1 roll may be from the superior unique table. The other rolls are performed on the regular counterpart's table; their displayed drop chances represent a single roll.

Bug

Bug:

When the Colossal Hydra begins its lightning special attack, the player will lose aggression. If the Aggression Timer is yet to run out, the hydra in the area will attack the player.

Trivia

The hydra's appearance may be a reference to the three-headed dragon meme, in which two heads appear intimidating, whilst the third appears bug-eyed and is drooling.
