Konar quo Maten (translated as Konar the Hunter) is a Slayer master who is found in the Kahlith settlement on the summit of Mount Karuulm. Players must have a combat level of at least 75 to be assigned a Slayer task from her.
Compared to other Slayer masters, Konar assigns wyrms and drakes more frequently and in higher amounts. Additionally, she is the only Slayer master who can assign hydras as a general task and the Alchemical Hydra as a boss task.
Blocking a task with Konar costs 80 Slayer reward points.
Transportation
edit- Rada's blessing 3 or 4's teleport takes players to the summit of Mount Karuulm.
- Heading north of the CIR fairy ring
- North of the Farming Guild teleport (found on the Skills necklace/Farming cape)
- North of the Battlefront teleport.
- Using the NPC Contact spell. Konar is initially unavailable using NPC Contact and must be spoken to first using Talk-to before becoming an option. The right-click "Assignment" option will not unlock her in NPC contact.
Slayer points
editPlayers can receive Slayer reward points for completing Slayer tasks—this is based on how many tasks players have accomplished in a row. Completion of a task assigned by Konar will grant players a varying amount of points, depending if they have completed the Kourend & Kebos Diary. Although she is the third highest Slayer master, she gives the second highest slayer point reward per task due to requiring players to slay in a specific area. The only Slayer master who gives more points is Krystilia, who gives Slayer tasks in the Wilderness.
| Task interval | Points given | |
|---|---|---|
| Default | Elite Diary | |
| Every task | 18 | 20 |
| Every 10th | 90 | 100 |
| Every 50th | 270 | 300 |
| Every 100th | 450 | 500 |
| Every 250th | 630 | 700 |
| Every 1,000th | 900 | 1,000 |
Konar's blocks cost 80 Slayer points.
Tasks
editUnlike other Slayer masters, Konar's Slayer tasks also include a specific location where players must complete the entire task.
After a task has been rolled, a second roll is made to determine the location in which Konar wants the player to complete their assignment. This second roll will check any other additional requirements if a location is locked behind a quest. If the player has not completed the quest that unlocks the respective area, then the task will never be directed there; e.g. a player who has not completed Song of the Elves would not be offered waterfiends at the Iorwerth Dungeon, whereas one who did would have that as a potential location. The chance of being assigned a specific location is equal for each eligible location,[1] barring the Wilderness unless it is part of a boss task (e.g. Vet'ion task), since Krystilia specializes in that area.
Bosses that are part of the slayer task area can be killed if offered. For example, being assigned abyssal demons in the Abyss means that the Abyssal Sire may be killed instead, but if the demons were assigned at the Catacombs of Kourend, the Sire would not be an eligible option. Konar will not be able to assign special locations, such as the ability to kill Tormented Demons as part of a greater demon assignment, since greater demons aren't found in the Ancient Guthixian Temple. Due to this, players who are seeking to kill variants of monsters are recommended to use Duradel instead.
In return for killing the assigned monsters at the location Konar specifies, players have a chance of receiving a brimstone key, which can be used to open the brimstone chest next to her.
Lastly, the Slayer cape perk gives a 10% chance to be reassigned the same monster for a player's task, including the same location.
